I loved this, Nia! The suspense you built with Angelus outside the house was just phenomenal! Even though, logically we know he can't get in, emotionally you had my heart racing a mile-a-minute. When Buffy, Tara, and Wes were talking downstairs and Spike growled, my stomach lurched. And the image of a steadfast, but weak Spike holding baby Connor while aiming a crossbow at Angelus was just awesome! That image should totally be immortalized, because it represents the theme of this story - protecting family, even if from those whom you were once close to. Loved it!!! I can't wait to see what kind of plan they develop to further strengthen their defenses and get Spike's chip out. Wonderful, exciting, angsty, moving, amazing chapter!

Can't say how much I love Angelus, you hit right on the ball. Especially, love him standing outside looking in at Spike. True psycho-evil vampire himself.

*lol*, nope, Giles isn't going to be a hurdle at all, is he? More like a possible solution :-) But it's in a way good to see Spike so worried about the watcher's reaction. The more he worries about that, the happier it'll make him once he finds out Giles is way ahead of them, 'cos his worrying means the man's oppinion matters to him. Love that Tara was able to do the ball-of-sunshine spell. Shows what an ignorant amateur Willow is, after all SHE messed up in a bit way when she tried her hands on that one. Buffy's thoughts about who she blames for Spike getting hurt were a great touch too. Can't wait to see what she's gonna do once she finds out who's really responsible for that. Somehow I doubt Willow is going to be back in their good graces anytime soon. Maybe never, would serve her right! Fab chapter! Take care not to hurt yourself if your arm is smarting again, let us wait a few days longer for an update if it helps. You getting better is more improtant! *hugs* dia

Author's Response: Thanks sweetie, glad you liked it. I don't think anyone's going to be happy about what Willow did.

I adore this story. I'm in the middle of Archive Days over at BBF so I don't have time right now to do you justice on a review this weekend, but please know that I really do love this story and I think you're doing a fantastic job with it.

Author's Response: Any response is good. I'm just grateful you took the time out to read and review. Thanks!

"Where's m'blood woman?" lol I love that. It was great how you had them all working together to deal with Angelus. They've become quite a team. And good thinking on Tara's part. Buffy and Spike still arguing about whether ot not he's going to drink more from her. Can't help but wonder who's going to cave first with those two stubborn mules. Great Angelus characterization there again, too.

Author's Response: Yeah, that's one of my favorite lines of his. Argh. . . LOL
