Beautiful bittersweet chapter, Nia. My heart broke with Tara's descriptions of her feelings growing up. As someone who naively experienced and acquiesed to years of manipulation by a control driven person, I could very deeply sympathize with her. You captured the emotions of one who is emerging into wisdom and their own power just perfectly. The blend of resentment, pain, sadness, grief, revelation, success, and relief was brilliant. I adore the portrait of Tara that you are painting. Dawn's discoveries truly give me hope that she will finally have the family, the sense of belonging that she has so longed for. Just as Tara's need to belong has begun to be filled by Buffy's invitation to stay in the Summers' house. It would be lovely if Buffy, Spike, Dawn, and Tara formed a sort of family unit. Not that they aren't already, but their family unit could be improved by the absence of Willow in the household. I can really see these four, and additionally Giles, as the new core to this family of warriors. I think it's time for the "scooby gang" to be put to rest. As sad as it is, that unit will never be as close as it once was. It is heartening to see Buffy so open with her feelings around Spike, and so intent to have him in her life. The officiallity of Spike moving into Buffy's room may solidify their familial unit even more. And it may give Buffy a greater sense of safety and peace. I'm all for anything that lightens her emotional load and promises more frequent orgasms. More orgasms = higher levels of endorphins and serotonin in the brain. Higher levels of endorphins and serotonin in the brain = more balanced emotional functioning, decreased chance of depression. So I say bring on the smut! Er, please? Great chapter Nia! This one was incredibly evocative and poignant.

loved this chapter. well i love all your chapters. they always seem to end to quickly...LOL nice monk entries. very revealing. dawn is well on her way.......so glad giles is enjoying the books....*giggles* gods it must be sooo hard on buffy. even tho she is getting out it still creeps in there and gets ya. guess this was one of those times. ok, so your going to update like very soon b/c you missed on thurday due to site probs...i mean its only fair to your readers....*giggles* please??????

I know this is going to come as a huge surprise, but I liked this chapter. lol Buffy's reaction to Tara was good, telling her she was a friend she didn't want to lose. At least this Buffy knows where her real support is... And the last scene with Spike and Buffy was really touching. Can't wait to see what you do with Angel and his lil' spawn, too.
