Well Happy Birthday! I"ve been reading this fic all along, though haven't been so great at leaving reviews. Looking forward to reading how the plot plays out between Buffy and Spike, especially since Spike overheard Xander and Giles.

Things are falling into place for Spike. His relationship with Buffy is getting easier and easier. She's really trying to trust him, but he has to keep giving her reason. It wasn't long ago he was all about the violent death threats, it's difficult to wrap her brain around Spike's loving her.

Willow seems all for it, though. Now with the ammunition about the Gem of Amara, she's looking at Spike in a new light. She practically made Spike ask Buffy out to dinner.

It's all very entertaining.

I've really enjoyed to storey so far... I was always a bit disappointed when Spike lost the ring of Amara so quickly in the Whedonverse... And you do write the characters amazingly well. :)

Sadly, the Buffy suddenly being pregnant bit just kind of horrified me. I've never been able to stand pregnancy/children Spuffy fics, so I don't think I can finish this one. Tried skipping ahead a few chapters, but to no avail. Ah well...

Definitely let me know if you write any non-pregnancy stories in the future, tho'. :) I really do love your style. :)*

Author's Response: Thank you. It was a pleasure talking with you in emails. I have certain things that I just hate to read as well, so I understand where you are coming from. I'll say again, though for the others reading this review, this story is NOT a baby!fic. It's not cutsey about babies and the romance between Buffy and Spike is more about them then a baby. That is why I've purposely kept Spike in the dark about it for so many chapters.

Buffy accompanying Spike on his rental interview was fun. She's right to not trust him alone with humans, but his actions did nothing to alarm anyone. Until they got in the car, that is. His seduction technique is not subtle, and Buffy's not falling for his grabbiness. He needs to show up on patrols, not paw at her.

Cleaning up the violent demon population should go a long way to earning Buffy's trust.

I enjoyed the midnight escape from the hospital. Troy seemed like a nice guy, but I can understand why he put Spike out of joint. It was just like his petty jealousy over Buffy's friendship with Ben.

Joyce's reaction to Buffy's arrival was spot on. Her concern was apparent, even in her mild bitching at Buffy. Spike's right, these are two head strong women.

Buffy had obviously been thinking on the Spike situation for a while to have gotten up such a head of steam this early in the morning. Her dwelling bodes well for Spike worming his way into her heart. Let's see how long it takes for her to believe he really loves her.

I laughed at Spike's reaction to Buffy's inquiry about Dru. I could see him patting his pockets, feigning looking for his keys. The look on his face at her stupidity would have been priceless.

Buffy's conversation with Spike was charming. She's still wary, but when he's not being obnoxious, he's really very sweet with her. The information about using the bathroom points to other physiological changes when Spike's got that ring on. Say hello to your baby's daddy, Buffy.

Spike watching over Buffy all night was another sweet gesture, and I was delighted it led to him meeting up with Riley again. Not only did he get to hear Buffy's serum induced conversation with Maggie, but he also got to send a message home with Riley. The Big Bad is back, and he's...looking for something sweet to feed Buffy? Hysterical.
