Even in the midst of the painful slayer dream, this perfect Buffy response made me laugh out loud “You are a frustrating little chit, aren’t you?”

The melding of the two sets of memories opened a window into the events of this universe. Angel's angry response to the love spell made me think he'd harbored a crush on Buffy before they mystically did the deed. It's no wonder he's so testy with her now. It's like he's taken Xander's role. Buffy having to stake Joyce was devastating. She's had as much loss and heartache in this world as in her own. She's been given the choice between a rock and a hard place.

This disconcertingly normal alternate world is fascinating in its similarities and its differences. The vampires are a truly chilling bunch, and you've captured their malevolence nicely. William's barely repressed attraction is growing stronger with each chapter, and it's very entertaining and sexy. Buffy's continued confusion and desire to get back to her own messed up universe is heart hurting, though I'm enjoying how it's making her turn to Spike more and more.

The fight sequence was beautifully choreographed and That last line really brought the fear. Off to one more chapter. Thanks for the very entertaining read.

Hmm. That's quite an interesting twist, to throw the time change in there as well.

My first thought is that if the badness of her 17th b-day can be avoided in this world, she should stay here. But the slayer dream specifically stated that circumstances in the world she didn't choose to remain in would still exist ~ meaning that Angelus would be left to rampage in the "other" Sunnydale. Okay, I officially have no clue where you're going with this so I'll resolve to stop analyzing ang just hang on for the ride!

I adored the clichéd spark. :) Not so keen on William running out on the poor girl, although I get why he did so.
