*curious* Where does Buffy want to take them? An event she visited with her mother, hmmm.
And I'm glad that one misunderstanding is out of the way too: Buffy doesn't think any longer that he doesn't like her.
Indeed this 'going out' is more like a date then business *g*. New to Spike too. Even if both sets of eyes are wandering and enjoy what they see ;-)
And then again, Spike needing reassurance, a hello? Awe :) Maybe there was more William speaking than Spike.
They can walk? Anyway, better with all the wine. Awe, how romantic: a music festival. (*grins* Buffy forgot the corkscrew? She was a bit too nervous I guess.) Romantics songs, even more with them dancing to it. :) Glad to read Spike will fight for her now. Anything for my girl, huh? ~

Author's Response: Yeah, William was hanging onto anything he could up until the last moment (w/ the clothes). Buffy was being a tad cryptic only because she wanted to see his reaction to the situation - hey, it could have backfired on her... we know it wouldn't but she didn't know that. I had to have them resolve the huge misunderstanding caused from him walking out on her... the story simply couldn't move forward without burying the hatchet. Oh yes, Spike may have come out to say a few things, but William was present and accounted for in his actions and words. There will be more spuffiness ahead in chapter 19, promise. That was romantic and fluffy, but it was charming. I like how William called Buffy "my girl" a couple of times, and Buffy didn't get all over speculative about it. They both just went with the romance of the evening, not trying to gauge each other's actions and reactions. Now that they're all warm and open to one another , I'm sure you have something in store for us. I hope it includes conversation, something to move the relationship to another level.
Author's Response: Well, they needed a nudge and thankfully Buffy was the one smart enough to know they needed some neutral ground and pleasant distraction from all that was sexual... ok, at least for now. It really wasn't her intention to purchase him for sex, but if it happens as a natural result - she won't argue. Chemistry is well... science. Hopefully you'll enjoy the next chapter too hon. Well for starters....THIS WAS FREAKIN' AMAZIN'!!!!!!!!!! I swear I had tears in my eyes from the songs you chose. I used 'At Last' in one of my fics too, and actually had it played at my wedding so it's always one of my favs.
The emotions in this chap were just the way it should be and I know you won't fall short in the chaps to come. I'm lovin' this more and more and can't wait to see what's in store for our fav couple. Kuddos on a job well done yet again ;)

Wonderful chapter. Really enjoyed the pace. I remember all those song very fondly having dated at that period of time. Brought back many fond memories. Author's Response: Oh that's so wonderful hon... my parents were married during the fifties and of course coming from a family where everyone plays piano, my father would sit at his theatre organ or the piano and play every night - these kind of songs. I would lay on the couch in the room and fall asleep listening to him... When i first came up with this chapter, my muse jumped up and down frantically - he knew there was nothing more perfect than this kind of evening and these kinds of songs to help our couple move closer together. I'm so happy you enjoyed it, and I think there's great hope for him believing he now stands a chance with Buffy, and she him. Thanks for the wonderful review sweety.

My grandmother was my babysitter, so I was raised on these songs. The family used to go to a similar thing to this when I was a kid, though it was Big Band music, instead.
That was a perfect "first date".

My sister and I had a couple albums we would play on a record player (omg, there was actual vinyl back then) and even at age 8 I would sing my heart out to every song.
