I gotta say the reviews are almost as much fun as this story. And this story is EXACTLY that... FUN. There is so much potential here for all sorts of funny antecdotes. Hey if you are in lack ridiculous things adults have done with chidlren, email me, my husband was a riot with our first born. He still is. I'm sure he's done one or two stupid things you could borrow for Buffy if you're in need. Not that you're not doing great on your own. And maybe there should be an entire space on this website for the English/American dictionary. Great idea... I personally think that most of it can be gotten by reading the "context clues" (didn't they teach us that in 3rd grade?), but it would have a lot of humor potential as well. Really great story. But here is a dare: Find a way to get Spike to use one of those "supplemental feeding systems". They're meant to help women breastfeed and from what I understand they attach alongside to a woman's nipple. The reason I even thought of it is that a dad on the series ER was using one and it was downright hysterical. if you use other british words for baby items such as nappies for diapers, since some of the readers are americans you might want to put an british - american glossary at the beginning of each chapter so that people who can't figure it out know....just an idea...love the chapter....since you might use ice lollies instead of popsicles....

This is really cute! I like that you made Buffy and Willow leary of, and unaccustomed to, babies. I doubt either would have spent much time around babies prior to this. And not in control Buffy is very entertaining! I was sort of expecting Olivia to be the mother, so not surprised. But "Ophelia"! Yikes!

OK, first for Ravenesque--I'm really enjoying this... I love the setup and the fact that everyone's so tense around the baby except Spike. This made me laugh out loud, so thank you from the bottom of my heart for brightening my day. Now, for reviewer Tammy: I get that you're opinionated when you review, but writing doesn't necessarily mean opening yourself up for every hack with an axe to grind. If you don't like Raven's set-up or her story, you can a) not read it (shudder gasp!) or you can b) write one of your own. It takes a lot to put yourself out there like this for no other reward than hoping that you've made someone else happy. And as for your 'constructive' criticism: Buffy did tend to be fairly territorial of Giles in a he was her father-figure kind of way, which is what I understood Raven to be implying. Teenage girls may like the idea of a baby in the cooing over someone else's sense, but one dropped in their laps for them to take care of: not so much. Especially since Buffy was never exactly what could be called maternal. And finally, I would imagine that Giles is just as capable of a one-night stand as anyone, and the fact that every detail of the plot isn't laid out in the first chapter is called story development. Raven, keep up with the good work, and thank you for your efforts. I enjoyed them very much.

Ok...this is NOT a review...but a response to one. Tammy.. that was NOT a review but an attck... you should be ashamed if that is the sort of review you leave for people! Tell me why should a writer 'have to take' the sort of criticism that you throw out? There was nothing constructive about it. In fact you quite sucessfully showed yourself up for a fool... The fic is (obviously to any one with a brain) a light hearted story not a serious full of angst and high drama fic. Also the Giles/Buffy thing..it at no stage comes across as Buffy having a 'thing' for Giles... he is her surrogate Father...what she is feeling is called sibling rivalry. And I agree you do not need to be British to work out what knickers are...however there were many occasions throughout the show when the Americans appeared unable to work out obvious British terminologies...so therefore..very in character. And please..tell my WHY just because they are girls that they should not react that way to a baby?? Are you implying all girls have an automatic affinity to babies?? Very Victorian thinking I would say! I am sorry if I offend YOU...however as an irresponsible reviewer you just have to learn to accept this kind of response. To the author... your fic is wonderful and I am enjoying it... please take NO notice of idiots like Tammy!
