Great angst and suspense! I just love the twist of missing information regarding the amulet. I didn't see that coming. Is it in relationship to the amulet not being used to it's fulfillment (i.e. Buffy pulling off of Spike), or Angel's agreement with the Senior Partners for the mind sweep about Connor, or both? It just seems too coincidental to not have anything to do with the terms Angel's agreement. I'm beginning to wonder how many other major events will be affected by Buffy saving Spike. You story really makes me think! I just love how you write the characters too. So close to canon. Can't wait for the roadtrip!

BlondieBear, I think it's EXACTLY how Giles would have acted on the show. Giles was as pompus about Buffy's choices as Xander. Every one thought that THEY knew what was best for Buffy. Giles would have freaked out if Spike was soulless again. You have to remember that he's also chipless now and technically there is NO conscience to reign him in.
