Thanks for responding to my previous review. And NO, I wouldn't expect you to try to re-write any part of your story. In a way, I wish things were really more like this when it comes to drug addicts. It would be a lot less heartbreaking. And as far as the reality of it, I've kind of rethought my opinion on the subject. Reality wise, the drug use/reference in the last few chapters is no different than the "all too perfect" sex scenes that people write. And hell, those sex scenes are half the reason I read this stuff. It's all meant to be a little too good or a little too unique, otherwise it would be boring. The reality of a drug addict that's going to relapse for the next 15 years is not something I would want to read anyway.... anymore than a sex scene that describes in detail the Urinary Tract Infection that Buffy got because she failed to pee immediately after sex . Too much reality is not good. I commend you for taking on a subject like this, and consider yourself fortunate that you don't know more about the drugs your writing about. I can't wait for the next chapter. Take care.

I gotta say it... and I'll apologize beforehand, because I tend to be very critical of "drugs are bad" fics. Also, I hate it when Buffy is this sanctimonius. She bitched at him for sleeping around... she's 16 and sleeps with a guy in a band the day after they meet... not exactly the beginning of a celibate life. And the thing about Sid and Nancy... that was heroine, not cocaine. And it's pretty rare to actually OD on coke... if anything, they'll have a heart attack or a stroke. Cocaine addicts are obsessive, compulsive paranoid and possibly violent. They very usually suffer long term issues before they ever end up in the hospital. A more realistic twist would be that he got very high and did something stupid like put his hand through a window, got in a fight, got in a car accident OR actually had a heart attack. Most of the time, coke addicts just get really bitchy and people stop being their friends. I'm not saying drugs are good, but Buffy's dialogue reminded me of an after-school special. Overall the story is pretty good and I will continue to read, but you might want to brush up on drug information before you write another fic with drugs in it. I will say though that I am impressed you even knew about Sid and Nancy... it's kind of a cult classic among the people who use.
Author's Response: I appreciate the drug information because it's not really something I put thought into when I wrote this. To be honest, I wrote this about 4 months ago and finally felt like posting it after reviewing it. I knew the affects of cocaine and didn't feel like changing the story around, so if this story bothers people because of the way I wrote people who do coke, I'm sorry. And the Sid/Nancy line from the story...I knew it was heroine, but my point was that he was living a rockstar life. Plus, I'm very interested in the Sid and Nancy story in general, and this is coming from an 18 year old:) But thank you for your review...this is the only drug story I've ever done, so any info about specific drugs is really helpful.
