Beautiful and sweet. Although I think you should have had a smutty interlude or pre-epilogue (is that even a thing?) just for smut. But I understand. And this story was always more about their feelings more than the smut. Great story and I'm glad to see it go as well.
Author's Response: Thanks, Franchesca - I did toy with the idea of having a bit of smut but felt that this was the better ending. As you pointed out, it was always more about their feelings than the actual act :)

Awwwww. That was so precious. That he still intends to follow through on the "fake" engagement is just lovely. This chapter was so tender and moving. I'm glad that Spike and Buffy were able to sort out the little misunderstanding at the beginning of the chapter. I have to admit, if in Buffy's shoes, that's what I would have assumed too. I can't wait to see what you have planned for us in the epilogue. Wonderful chapter, and a fantastic story!
