Very good. We could see how much Spike is still hurting over what he did to his mum, the one thing he truley regretts. Did he turn his butler afterwards then? Shouldn't he be scared of turning someone again so soon? Maybe Dru did it.

The fact that that one incident still haunts him 120 years later says a lot for the kind of vampire he is. Spike might not give a rats ass about every single person in the world like a slayer would but for those he does care about causing them harm is the last thing he would ever want to do. I can understand what motivated him to do it though. He felt great after he was turned; strong, fast and full of life and he wanted to give that to his mother whom he still loved and who was dying. The intent was admirable even though it didn't work the way he intended.

Oooo, I remember snippets of this story only so it's going to require a reread, but I did like that chapter and your cast of characters a lot.

That would be the one place they would be safe. The Watcher's Council had him down as a ruffan and thief when he was human. Spike covered his tracks well when he was first turned.

I laughed so hard I thought I would have to find an emptied out plastic jug of motor oil. "Snakes" and "I think this is the classiest moment of my life" will stay with me forever. On the flip side, the emotional impact of Spike's return home....words fail me.

I enjoyed this chapter, the part in the mall, drunk Spike and Wesley, and the talk between Buffy and Spike. They were angry and could have said it better, but the important thing is that they got to say what they thought. Now they need to have a calmer talk.
