Reading your newest chapter was a wonderful way to start-off my weekend. Your Spike started off the chapter really open to being a couple with the very-oblivious Buffy. The “footsy under the rubble” comment was another brilliant revisit of canon in a different context. You’re really allowing us to see how this brash Spike is, underneath it all, a vulnerable William.

…and the surprise?! “Blood Ties” helped to fill a small bit of the void missing with the end of the Buffy-verse and completely a squee-worthy gift to get from a not!boyfriend! Spike. Those might be really entertaining scenes to watch together.

Honestly, it was the dancing and what happened after that made another awesome chapter. Not that I’m one to condone the need for alcohol to further a relationship, but…a slightly drunk!Buffy unbent enough to let Spike in…I love how you’re keeping him very much the gentleman. They are on their way to bliss. Can’t wait for the “morning after” to see what Buffy remembers and the next part of their weekend.

Minor observation: “He hated doubting himself, but this time he new he was right to.” Other ‘knew.’

Wow! Another great chapter. From the "trigonometry" lessons that flashed me back to my very own high-school tete-a-tets with a blong, rage-producing hottie to the really insightful moments with Spike's relevations, I absolutely loved it.

The chapter was extremely well-balanced with the fun-filled "fight" and with the maturation of Spike's baser needs. He's not gonna settle for anything less than Buffy. You're making him into a real gentleman. I appreciated your re-visit of the now-famous "you're all I bloody think about" as an introspection. You built up the story to that point and simply didn't use it as a given or throw-away.

I can't wait to see Spike's surprise for Buffy. I have complete faith in you that it will do one of the following:
1) ruin things for Angel;
2) ingratiate Spike to Buffy even more;
3) or completely blow-up in massive proportions
4) combination of 1-3?

...on a lighter note...having just introduced constellations to my students, I really wish I had some sexy, smart, and delicious man who loved me, teach me about the stars!

anyway i have a theory :) in this theory Spike and angelus's mum is jenny who left Ethan for Giles, because spike was the second son he was pampered by his dad and spoilt like anything. Spike admired him as a child and tried to follow his footsteps. hence the rivalry. I have this little mental picture of Dru being a catholic school girl that was liked by spike but corrupted by Angelus hence the hate between spike and angelus. after being rejected by angelus dru went insane because she was pregnant and lost the baby because angelus didn't want it.
oh, and Jenny comes and gives buffy a right good talking to too in there somewhere.
i think that i have an overactive imagination when it comese to other people's stories... sorry... can't wait to see what you actually have planned for us because i know it will beat out my imagination in spades

It's so great to see Buffy and Spike's relationship headed in a good direction, becoming friends can only be a good thing in my book. :D Loved the Willy/Cordy scene, those two difinitely make an interesting pair. Fantastic chapter as always!
