Author's Response: Thanks Heidi. Yes was treading a fine line there. Don't want it to appear that I think men/soldiers would normally commit such acts - only the 'Warrens' of this world. Finn's reaction is also ambiguous and I fell back on the Initiative's 'less than human' attitude as a partial excuse for his behaviour. Love that none of you have twigged to the 'aliens' yet.

I was so happy to see this story again! I was actually just thinking about it the other day, and lo and behold. Definitely a gruesome chapter, however needed to start us into the main plot. Can't wait to see if Spike gets to see the footage and what answers he'll have. Surely Buffy and Spike still have a truce however fragile it might be now.

Author's Response: Yo B. Yes I was channeling my inner Stephen King a bit there. The Truce is taking a bit of a battering but all ( well some anyway) will be revealed soon.

Well, now that you mentioned it...no one has asked about her have they? You know, for me it may be b/c everything seems so original with your story that I'm waiting for you to introduce her to me. Even though you've used the same characters from the show you've changed the names and repositioned relationships (ie Dorn being Spike's sister) and surroundings in such an atypical way, thereby changing my expectations completely (so much so that I really have none-except for the legend you invented-clever, clever). Spike doesn't even seem like our Spike. Oh, there are aspects (quite a few) that are HIM, but what you've done here is create a world so new that I won't even presume to know these characters. I only wait in earnest for the brilliant author to allow me more. And oh how I want more.

So...is it Faith? Or Faythe? TeHee! :)

Author's Response: I hope my version of Spike is still appealing to readers - it's hard when I can't rely on his normal speech patterns - plus I had to imagine his personality with a different history and responsibilities (as a soldier rather than carer, although I hope a few nurturing qualities are still there). Your review did me the world of good - and Faythe? wrong but nice try - will be using your spelling later in the fic if you don't mind. ;)

Just caught up with this story and just totally love it! Was a little suspicious first when reading the summary - StarTrek meets Buffy? But I just couldn't stop reading, this story is great and your latest twist is even better. God, now I'm dieing from suspense! Can't wait for the next chapter!!

Oh, my, GOD. If that wasn't seduction at its best, then may God strike me down. Seriously hot and sweet and so passionate. It made me very happy to see them finally come together and care for each other. And of all things that could go wrong, that stupid warrior had to show up - hope she didn't kill Spike, that would mean Buffy's death as well. The Truce is over? Well, that throws a monkey wrench into the mix of things, especially since they're already married, bound together.
