Nice to know that Spike is onboard and committed to helping Buffy deal with his "family".
Now, who is going to learn of Spike's presence in Sunnydale first.... Gile, et al., Joyce, or Angelus?

Loved, loved, LOVED the backstory on Spike and his ramblings on Angelus, Darla and Dru, it does explain quite a bit of why he is like he is. I'm looking forward to more!

Another great update! Informative but not stifling, exposing feelings and thoughts but with a few chuckle-worthy moments in for balance! I love this more and more, can't wait to see what happens when Spike actually meets his 'family' or (of course) how he and Buffy will come closer together!

Author's Response: Glad you liked! The meeting with the family will be coming soon, I swear. :) (Gah, I keep saying that to people, and yet it always seems to be still coming later. We're 7 chapters in to the SD part, and have only covered like two days of Buffy's new life. I really should have learned my lesson by now, that anything I write is about 2 to 3 times as long as I think it's going to be. Anyway, long story short, the (first) Angelus meeting is coming up, and I think the Sunnydale part is going to last much longer than 30 chapters.)

I finally got around to reading this and I must say, it's simply brilliant darling. Love how you started it out on one note and now it's all twisted, well, 'Sideways', lol. Can't wait for the next update. It will be interesting to see how Spike handles, his, erm, family matters along with the obvious UST you have going on here, the first shag aside, of course.

To your A/N: A Spawn fic? No, I don't read them. I'd rather skip. But to the new chapter here:
So Buffy has doubts now; it's sounds as if she is on her way to a death wish. I hope Spike can talk her out of it (or is she just getting depressed?).
Oh right, with the ring Spike can train her in daylight too. I forgot about that for a moment.
And Spike even took her offer :) It's easier this way as long as Joyce doesn't check on her and discover Spike.
Author's Response: No, not a Spawn. It's just not really a friendship fic, since Spike isn't friendly. It's how I could see Spike and Dawn could have met in Becoming. Well, Joyce has already left for work, but she will be seeing Spike sometime... :) And Buffy wasn't having so much of a death wish as doubts, especially once she found out who the vampires were, and when she thought Spike wouldn't help her.
