Hm, seems Buffy is having a hard time with her emotions about being the slayer where Spike is concnerned despite the fact she hired him. Methinks she's realizing maybe it isn't such a good idea to have any feelings for him at all. Loved the last bit - Spike was so naughty to say 'I've seen it before' - way to confuse the poor girl. It's tough sometimes to really understand - at least for me - what Spike is really thinking, so it will be interesting to see this story play out when he does have to help Buffy where his family is concerned, or whow he reacts when Buffy is truly in danger. Great chapter hon, bravo. Hugs.

Author's Response: As for Buffy wanting to keep feelings and Slaying separate, it was her plan (she did want to know if he was in love with her before she hired him, after all), but it isn't working out so well. She's having feelings whether she wants to or not. And of course Spike has to be naughty, he's Spike. :) He's thought there was the possibility for more than business since they made the deal, though he's not going to push it too much. As for what Spike is really thinking, there'll be some Spike-internal thoughts in a couple of chapters, and some other stuff before that. I'm glad you liked, and thank you so much for reviewing!

Mmmmh so Spike knows more (facts) about Buffy then vice versa.... kind of an advantage.

Very interesting that Angel's 'moment of pure happiness' turning him back into ANgelus was nothing more than drinking Darla's blood - didn't see that as a possibility, but it is sire's blood I suppose. Nice background you have in this chapter - loved the important milestones you wrote here throghout the years. And omg, how could Angelus NOT expect Darla to go ballistic after killing the Master. Hmmmmmmm, really makes me wonder if she'll continue to hold a grudge or let it go. Wonderful chapter darling, looking forward to more - hugs.

Author's Response: Well, I figured that that could have been his pure happiness moment, since he was starving and had been for some time, and if you go with the happiness as 'forgetting his guilt and suffering completely, even for a moment.' Eh, Angelus probably expected Darla to go wiggy somewhat, but she's chosen him over the Master before, so he expects that she will again (which she does, eventually, since she comes back). She won't be so much holding a grudge, as simply not bringing it up again. Thanks for reviewing!
