Author's Response: It's okay! Leap right in! Anyway, I wrote the first few chapters so you couldn't *really* tell what was going on with Spike, though I put vampire in the summary to make it clear that it wasn't a complete human AU.

Oh unexpected (well Spike did). Wouldn't it have been for Spike being a vamp I don't think he would be easily have saved Buffy. So now their attacker will hopefully spill the beans.
