definitely liking this...I really like the whole gray-side of Spike. he's not good but he's not evil. He's just following his vampire principles. Anyway, excellent story and I can't wait for more....Interesting to know if Buffy gonna get all Slayer-ized soon.

"Don't ask, don't tell" Yep, that perfectly sums up where Spike and Buffy seemed to be coming from before. As they have both now learned to their detriment, it's a policy that rarely works in reality. ;-)

I really enjoyed the Wes/Buffy interaction - he didn't really do anything to make her feel better, but it seems like the two of them talking has "grounded" her, for lack of a better word. Wonder if it's the Potential in her, responding to a Watcher.

So glad to finally find out what's going on with the Slayer/Non-Slayer aspect of Buffy. Makes perfect sense, and is certainly a great reason for Spike to stick around.I've always been kind of interested in the idea of what makes a particular Potential become the next Slayer, so it's a great story element.

Author's Response: Yeah, neither Spike nor Buffy had brought up the subject of what vampires eat (or rather, how vampires eat), they were both sort of playing at where they wanted to be as they went along. Well, Wes isn't really 'cry on my shoulder' kind of guy where vampires are concerned. And I'm not sure Buffy really wanted someone to make her feel better, more like she wanted someone to tell her what she already knew her conscience was telling her to do. And Spike will definitely be sticking around, though maybe not in the way you'd expect. :) Thanks for reading!

Nice twist..

Slayer blood... elixir to vampires and such.. So Buffy is a "Potential" and doesn't know it. And if she has been practicing in Daddy's gym she should get a rush of strength one day that might be a huge surprise. At least she knows a little about them.

Too bad about Spike's eating habits..and her knowing about the Gem. He might be her first.

Uh-huh... Spike is no pet vampire, that's for sure. Buffy saw more of him than she wanted too. I wonder what they'll make of it now. Spike has to changes his rules if he wants to have Buffy in his life. It doesn't look to me as if he'll get both. ~ Looking forward to what will happen now.

I was wondering when it was going to hit Buffy that Spike is indeed a vampire. He's not like an Angel type, he is a bloodsucking fiend, and I liked this chapter. It was nice and sweet. That is until the end.

The question is, will Spike change his eating habits for her? I kind of hope not, but thats just my personal opinion.

Author's Response: Nice and sweet until the end, LOL. Yeah, Buffy has sort of been playing denial when it comes to the vampire part of the vampire thing. Spike might change for Buffy, but it is a loooooong way away, with many things in between. Thanks for writing!
