However, she's going to find that her end of the bargain isn't quite as simple as "bite, suck, repeat." And business aside, they'll both end up getting closer than they intended.....

I really wanna see how this 'just business' deal will work out for them. I think Spike is a bit more realistic about it than Buffy is! LOL. Having him at her neck every once in a while and not jumping him? Yeah, right! Of course the fact that it hurt more than she expected could be because of a conscious effort from Spike to keep it real, cuz I think I remember her enjoying it when they slept together (I'll have to re-read that though--maybe I'm wrong about the biting)

I LOVED this just as much as all the previous chapters, can't wait to see what happens in Sunnydale!

Author's Response: Well, Wesley would never guess the truth of where Spike is. It wouldn't even occur to him. :) Buffy did enjoy the biting when she and Spike slept together, but Spike didn't bite her with his vamp teeth. Hmm, you might be headed in the right direction about Spike making it hurt a little the last time, cause where would the fun be in having it unenjoyable for Buffy every time? *evil grin* Let's just say that it's not going to be so simple as "bite, suck, repeat" in later times. You write well.. The story has good plot with a smattering of sex and always love banter between the two.. Like Spike as a vampire with a little William added in. But not a whimp..

Waiting for Sunnydale, cause you know he is going to go... She's in his blood now.. not just his head.

Now that's clever: her blood. Money was never going to hook him even though he would want to be with her. His rep. would be in tatters if it was just money causing him to betray his kind publicly. This way, he is being given a fee that any vampire would covet: Slayer's blood. To drink from the golden font with no stake in sight. To his undead bretheren, there is no sense of him going soft, just taking advantage of a continuous prize. His not taking the ultimate prize after the first drain - well, he's in the vicinity, given a free pass, isn't he? And, from Buffy's end, this blood thing is so much more a lure and even a sense of control. Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer ....... It is also her way of sanctioning his proximity and using this 'asset' to her advantage. For, ironically, it is going to be a member of the undead, a successful slayer of slayers who is going to keep her from becoming the next, promptly slain Slayer.

He does want to be around her, and if she wants to pay him with her own blood to fight with her, he's not going to complain. And the irony won't be lost on Buffy, especially when it comes to light that the vampires on the Hellmouth are none other than Spike's old 'group.' Thanks for reviewing!
