this story is awesome!

sorry if i didn't review first, but really, i should have. i love the whole concept of 'best enemies', and of course given the time in which you set the story it's obvious that buffy doesn't rush to save spike. but the doubt is sooo nagging in the back of her mind...

Fabulous. Please please keep this up, I love how you're exploring this situation with Buffy.

"She knew it would be easier to catch him unawares, stake him in the back and get it over with."

I really liked that part. It really set the mood for me in this chapter.

i was so happy to see a new chapter from this story. it is one of the ones that i hope will be a new chapter when i come on here.

buffy having a hard time to stake spike. that doesn't surprise me.

I was wondering where Dawn was last chapter. I'm glad you gave Spike and Dawn that ( better not be ) last moment together. Their friendship has always been one of my favorite parts of the Buffyverse.

And it's ineresting watching the hard boiled Slayer fascade start to crack as she watches the "pain in her ass" vampire face death with a nobility and grace that seems to be sadly lacking in the so called "heroes".

*cries* I'm in tears right now with the Dawn/Spike scenes. OMG!!!!!! That was wonderful, so sad, but wonderful. And I'm really happy that Buffy's having some thoughts on the whole thing, hope she changes her mind. Can't wait for more!!

Poor Spike but Buffy will step up to the plate, although I'm not sure how she's going to pull it off but staking Spike is really not an option in this marvelous Spuffy world. My glass is half full (which is extremely rare) - please prove me right. Will be waiting for your next update.

Great update. I'm always amazed at how easily the gang could dismiss Spike's contributions and ignore his value. You do a great job at conveying how little they valued him and how that transferred to him not valuing himself. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
