You built incredible tension on Spike's journey toward Buffy, it's no wonder they both just fell apart.

The confrontation with Angel was vivid and somewhat cathartic. He deserved the smack down, but I'm glad the gang pulled Spike off before he killed Angel. There's no helping Buffy if Spike's behind bars.

Buffy's emotional shut down is worrisome. She could get taken advantage of anywhere along the way to Sunnydale. I'm enjoying this matter of fact Anya, getting the job done, looking after Spike and his "his errant, married girlfriend."

There's time to dress Xander down later, but Xander was just doing what he felt best for Spike. He wasn't far wrong, with Buffy continuously going back to her husband at the expense of Spike's emotonal well being.

The scratches on Angel's face were ominous enough, but the addition of Buffy's cell phone and purse have set alarm bells clanging all over the place. Spike being racked with guilt isn't really helping, but it's certainly devastating. I loved this emotional line: "Catching her had quickly become second nature to him, after all. But this time, he had stopped himself, let her fall for the first time ever in his presence."

At least this will finally open Buffy's eyes once and for all that she needs to get out of that house and as far away from Angel as her credit cards will allow. She doesn't deserve Spike waiting for her, but in time I bet he still will be.

This is one of those stories that I've been able to picture in my minds eye since the beginning. It is just so well written !! Your style is very unique, so I was never able to create my own ending. I am so glad that you are back and creating more of this great story. It has been one of my favorites.

That was a great chapter , very touching , I just hope she doesn't muck it up again. How she could stay with Angel in such an abusive marriage because she took vows is pure insanity. She should get mental help, Especially since she was crazy enuff to throw over Spike for that freak of nature Angel.
