It has become increasingly difficult for Buffy to hold on to her hate, and she seems to have wormed her way into Spike's head and heart, too. Angel's complete cluelessness is hilarious in light of all the tension between them. It's making for a delightful read.

Maybe Angel's remark will help her soften a bit towards Spike.

So happy to see an update here again. Spike's arguing with himself was great. And Buffy's stubbornness, very in character for her. Can't wait to see where you go with this once they see each other again.

Here's Spike trying to be friendly, actually opening himself up to enjoy Buffy's company, but Buffy's too raw from her breakup with Riley to pretend what Spike did in the past doesn't still sting. All the talking in the world isn't going to fix this, but they need to move forward. I can't wait to see how you make them.

Buffy's take on her romantic life here was heart breaking: "Men don’t plan a life with me they practise what their life is going to be like then move on." Spike needs to show her that's not true.

I don't think the characters are acting naturally in this one. If someone would have jumped me like B did, I would retaliate and not feel guilty afterwards. And why the hell did B jump him like that anyway? As if he'd hurt her really bad, which as far as the story has gone thus far, he hadn't.
Actually they are both acting as if they had gotten hurt really bad some time in the past. But you haven't disclosed anything of the like so far. Maybe it's coming. If not, then their animosity is really over the top.

Ah and I thought it was going to easy. The not-date was fun because the got along.
They still have enough issues from their past. But maybe Spike can make it up a bit to Buffy, getting the books for her.
