You made me weep for William. I could tell what would eventually happen to William but what about Buffy?

Hurry up please with the update!

Author's Response: Buffy will reappear, never fear. But not necessarily as soon as people might think...

New chapter, yah! ohhh, poor William. I was afraid you would pull a "Gone with the Wind" and have William shoot the pony. then when Matthew went to check on it, I was afraid he would shoot it.

I don't get why the cook would think William was spoil. He seemed responsible and undemanding. Though I was interrested in he opinions of the servents about Buffy; I like the bit where the cook told Mtthew to press charages. since it gave a look of the working class.

And then Dru. Though I don't remember Dru says "dashing"; could be my faulty memory or you making the time line different. Great chap!

Author's Response: Dru did in fact call him dashing. I kept that one line exactly as it was in the episode, because I thought it was beautiful in an eerie sort of way. The cook was mainly angry because of William's abuse of Matthew. Yes, William treated the servants extremely well, but in Victorian London a lot of servants were mistreated by employers who saw them as little more than cattle (it was a very class based society). When she saw Matthew's face, I think she became disillusioned with her own boss. What she didn't take into account was the extreme circumstances in which it occured. Shooting the pony never really occured to me, although now that you mention it, that was one of the most tragic scenes in "Gone with the Wind." I just think William was more inclined to blame the people involved, rather than the animal. And Matthew works closely with the horses every day, so he is very attached to them. I'm glad you liked the chapter. Thank you for reviewing! :)

Woot! You updated again! *Feels spoiled*

This chapter was an excellent followup to the the last one. I love that you managed to work the setting and dialogue from the canon version of William's turning into your own story. It fits perfectly.

Poor William. The way you had him react to losing Buffy was very realistic, considering how repressed he's been. I'm looking forward to reading more. Please update soon!

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it, mwfte. Thanks for reviewing. I'm hoping to finish the next chapter by the end of the week; I've got about 2000 words written so far. So just keep just back.

As much as I knew I should expect Drusilla to show up, it was still so heartbreaking to see William in the alley, wanting to die! Are you going to stay with William/Spike for now and let us see whether/how his unlife as a vampire has been altered because of his love for Elizabeth and blaming himself for her "death"? Or are you taking us immediately back to the present to see if/how Buffy's trip to the past has affected the timeline? How is Buffy doing???? Please update soon!!!!!!!

Author's Response: To answer your question, Part Two will be dealing with William and the aftermath of his turning. Buffy will reappear in Part Three. I hope this won't discourage you from reading, because despite the new focus on William/Spike, there will be no lack of romance. I don't think anything would affect or alter his love for her. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Oh, that's bad. You so know how to keep me at the edge of my seat. You've done such a great job getting us to this point. I love the idea that Drusilla's voice became his next opiate. This is all shitty and beautiful all at the same time. What of Buffy? You must update soon...again.

Author's Response: Shitty and beautiful huh? lol. Well, I've never had my writing described in that way before, but I will definitely take it as a compliment. Thanks for reviewing!

This is so sad. I absolutely love this story--actually I like it better the original version written by Joss if you can believe that! You've done such a wonderful job on this that I can't wait to see what happens when Spike and Buffy meet up again the present.

Author's Response: Wow, what a great compliment. I have only the greatest respect for Joss, so to be compared to him is an honor for me. Thank you!

I don't want to push, but -- more please! Or at least, just tell me, it will get better soon, right???

I will miss William so!!!!!

Author's Response: Tsk tsk. You know I can't tell you that, readergirrl. It would spoil the surprise. However, the update shouldn't be too long coming. I've already written about 2000 words of it. Thanks for reviewing!

YES!!! Finally we can skip ahead and see how going back to the future has changed things...William (well he's going to be Spike now) is going to be super pissed off that Buffy never told him the truth about who she was. You must update soon. YOU MUST! Like tomorrow...or Saturday. PLEASSSEEE you must.

Author's Response: And just who says we'll immediately be going back to the future? ;) Unfortunately, this update won't take place until next Friday, unless I have another burst of time and inspiration, as I did with this past chapter. Anyway, I hope when it *is* ready you will enjoy it. Thanks for reviewing!

I'm excited with the new twist of Buffy going back to her time and what will happen with Will. I'm popping popcorn and getting ready for the next chapter cause it's conna be a doo-sey!~

There are so many reasons here to love William I think we all should travel back into time to find ourselves one. I liked how you opened this with William sort of guarding over her like that rose under the glass in Beauty in the Beast where he fears the slightest thing will destroy it and him along with it if anything should or would happen to her so to him she is beyond precious.

And with your version of William here for the most part he's always been alone so in your telling of his story you can see how desperately he would cling to his newfound happiness and a woman who would fully love him for him. That too is probably why for him finding the perfect ring for her finger is almost symbolic of his love and feelings towards her that is why nothing less then perfect in his eye will do because to him Elizabeth is his perfect love. Where is amuses Buffy in his quest to find the perfect setting she only sees it as a ring but to a guy like William it would be so much more because the ring is a visible symbol of their love to the world.

I think the best part in this chapter to me was your description of how a much of a starved and starving man William is in Buffy's touch and showing of affection towards him and just the fact she can make him lost control. It's sadly sweet how he thanks her for being there and loving him in his life. I thought that sentence alone spoke volumes.

I think in time with Buffy's few slip up with modern day references when time passes and with William being turned he will remember these things she has said about cars or Lord of the Ring things and will figure a few things out about her, though I wonder if he will not blame her for deceiving him a little when its all said and done. It's hard to be sure where Spike or you as the author will do with that. Because in their conversation in bed later on with her telling him to go to the meeting he could turn that around in his head like she was trying to get him to go away so she could get away from him. William does have a bit of love self esteem when it comes to people he could easily blame Elizabeth for wanting to escape him since he has always felt unworthy of her.

I almost cringe to see when he comes home and the pony returns without Elizabeth because then his dream of him and her will come to a end and he will wake up and when that happens any evil could step in and turn him for he will be in such a poor state being turned for him would be Dru saving him and giving him a new un-life he would be thankful for.

Sorry I'm rambling again with hypothesizes of what if's lol I am like everyone else her reading this and just waiting on this cliff of cliff hangers. Again I love your work it's a pleasure to read and review.

Wowand wow and wow I just hope she returns to the same William/Spike and this William is not another demension William because for Buffy that would be a double blow to really lose him completely.
I really liked this story and I really look for it when I visit the site.

A moment of impulse and a lifetimes worth of consequences. I knew the time jump or spell was coming but I cried reading this and this is the most compelling William fic I have ever read. Poor Elizabeth and William times ahead will be hard but they seem to have a love that can wait a lifetime to be back together. Excellent writing on this it is better then a novel.
