It did seem to be quite a time jump.
Enjoying. Have a love/hate relationship with the "Scoobies"
Author's Response: Yeah, not a lot of people (including my beta) saw the time jump coming. But I'm all about the plot twists with this story. Hope you're enjoying it. Thanks for commenting! :-)

Finally! Very good chapter. And it took me a moment, but itīs clear that Spike in the actual timeline couldnīt have recognized her when they met first three years ago, because her time journey hadnīt occured yet. Only after she comes back the memories are altered and he can "remember" her.
I cannot imagine him leaving, though, or Buffy doing nothing to prevent it. Somehow I would have thought, that Buffy would be different, I mean, itīs all very fresh for her. Wouldnīt she be completely fixed on Spike?
Author's Response: There is a reason why Buffy did not prevent Spike's leaving, and that will be fully explained in Chapter 42, I promise. I can't say anything else without giving away part of the plot ... but thanks for reviewing. :-)

Amazing and I loved it but I need more please soon.
Author's Response: Hey, haven't I been delivering fast enough? Four chapters in ten days ain't nothing to sneeze at ... lol
Yeah, but more should be coming soon. I'm working on it. Thanks for reading. :-)

haha-- actually, I *hadn't* been wondering what had happened over the past 3 1/2 years. I guess i just assumed that it followed the same canon as the show-- he knows that there's a resemblance to Elizabeth, but yeras, and dreams have made him confused. Buffy, of course, knowns nothing about it, and they continue just as it was shown on the show.
At least, that's what I had assumed. I'm *assuming* that I'm wrong, considering your author's note. haha
I loved this chapter!!! I admit that I was hoping for a "William!" as Buffy throws herself to him, but I have yet to be disappointed by the way you have taken this story.
Great job!
Author's Response: lol. While I'll admit that Buffy throwing herself into Spike's arms and calling him "William" would be romantic, I just couldn't see that happening in the story. Actually, I didn't see any of this happening. I had my basic concept - her return at the beginning of Part III - and then the rest just wrote itself. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. Thanks! :-)

Holy frijoles that was a great chapter! Damn those annoying friends of Buffy's for once again interrupting a Spuffy moment! Can't wait for the next chappie!

Author's Response: lol. My Muse has been an ANIMAL for the past ten days or so. But after the on-again off-again bouts of writer's block, I'm not about to complain. And I definitely wasn't going to make you guys wait for the chapters once they were written -- you already did your waiting when I went AWOL a month ago. Great to hear that you're enjoying the new chapters ... and yep, I'm still scribbling away. ;)

Gah! I, for one, have loved Part II just as much as I loved Part I and eagerly anticipate the start of III. So, for all of the people who have dissed this installment, tell them to "bugger off!"

I love the story, but, come on! There is no way he wouldn't recognize her. For god's sake, her real name *is* Elizabeth Summers, not Buffy.
Please make Spike smarter. He has to figure this stuff out before she would do her time travel thingy.
P.S. Loved the chapter.
Rouge.
Author's Response: Interesting that you should say that ... but I don't recall a single time where she is called anything other than "Buffy." I certainly don't recall her being referred to as "Elizabeth," even on her headstone. At any rate, I don't feel that Spike is unintelligent in his reaction to her. He thinks she is dead, and after a hundred years of having an idealized vision of her in his head, seeing her (and a considerably younger version of her) wouldn't be enough to convince him that she was still alive. He never suspected that she was anything but what she said, and he was certain that she was dead, so why would he question it? I appreciate your suggestions, but I will handle the story as I see fit. I hope you continue to enjoy it, and if not, I'm very sorry. Thanks for the review. :)

Well this knocked my socks off but every update of yours seems to have that effect on me.
Can't really say I'm sad to see Darla go she's always annoying to me in a fic but you even made me laugh with Spike poking fun at her in the last part. I don't know what part 3 will hold but I'm looking for your updates every chance I get now.
Great job as always yout talent as a writer never fails to suck me in.
Author's Response: lol. Yeah, Darla is such an arse, isn't she? It's great to know that you enjoyed Part II and that you're looking foward to Part III. Thanks for reading and reviewing. :)

You have brought us up to date in a completely adept way; by now, we are so familiar with the making of Spike - his beginning, his early years as a vampire and his relatiionships over all these years. The layers of blood that coat him, feed him, sustain his raison d'etre and, critically, you showed us the very point where his lovelorn memories of Elizabeth were smothered and buried deep, in order for the vampire that becomes the slayer of Slayers to go from strength to strength. That is to say, leave her behind, so that the demon may reign complete within the frame of Spike. William? Now, just a name.
So when he sees her likeness at the Bronze, he is momentarily jarred, but he is still able to compare the differences between the fancy of his human days and the beauty of a bolder, harsher world. And as such this is how he sees her. His defences don't weaken; rather, her forcing his past 'weakness' into the forefront of his mind angers him. There is no mercy for her, here.
The upcoming interraction is going to be so ........ devastating and delicious.
An amazing Book, which you have lavished with both detail and purpose. We had to see what made William into Spike beyond the obvious vampiric details. And you did just that.
Well done.
Author's Response: Is it any wonder that I love your reviews? You always understand what I'm trying to convey in my chapters, and you critque them in such a beautiful way. I'm really happy that you are continuing to enjoy the story, and I hope that I can live up to your expectations in the future. Thank you. :)

I loved the second part. I admit it was difficult waiting for the third part to happen, but this second part makes it a better story:) I hope you update soon, this is my favorite story. I haven't read such a good story since Lost in Time by SpikesKat. I love time travel and William and Elizabeth :) Thanks for the great story.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed the story and that you understand why I wrote the second part. Thank you for your review. :)

I loved it. Seeing the adventures of Spike throughout his life to come to this point was very interesting from your perspective. It gives us a window to what his story could have been. It was great and I can't wait to see where you go from here.

I'm trying to think back if Willim ever called Elizabeth Buffy or if she mentioned a nickname in the past but I dno"t think she did. This girl being alive and looking so much like the woman of his past will mess with him greatly and it has me thinking if Drusilla will know who Buffy is before either of them do.
I love this fic it seems to have everything and the kitchen sink to it. Love to read more of it :)
Author's Response: You're right - she never did call herself Buffy in front of him, or hint that she had a name other than "Elizabeth." I'm glad you're enjoying the story and looking forward to Part III. Thanks for reviewing. :-)

I am excited to see the start of part III, but I throughly enjoyed part II. It was quite interesting to see how he develpied despite this love he felt for a girl who would know more about him than he knew about him self and how that affected the development of his vampire. I do wonder, what will be her reaction to him. So very excited for more.
Author's Response: It's great to hear that you enjoyed Part II and are looking forward to Part III. Thanks so much for taking the time to tell me so! :-)

Well, I;m not sure loved it would be a good summary for most of part 2, but I can see the necessity of it, and how it makes this chapter so much more powerful, and sets uo what is to come. Can't wait!
Author's Response: Well, I can understand that it was hard to read, but I'm glad that you see it was necessary. Thanks for sticking by the story. I hope you enjoy Part III. :-)

And so it has happened. Angelus has a soul and Spike can see how little it matters. Or, not that it doesn't matter, but that soul or not he always had a choice. So very wise our Spike, even with the memory of Elizabeth haunting him. Ever closer to their reunion we get, always waiting for that moment. Amazing story.

I just began to read this fic last week, so this should be my first review, just to tell you that I loved this second part: Spike is such an intersting character and to be able to enjoy it from all pints of view: William, the new born vampire Spike and the change he suffred upon himself to become the Spike we first knew in Sunnydale... the journey is just amazing and in no way boring or unintersting. At least not to myself.
So, thank you very much for your fic and for taking the time in it to bring us a complete study in Spike,
Molly.
Author's Response: Thank you for reviewing it! It's great to know that you enjoyed reading Part II ... I like writing it and exploring William's transformation into Spike, and it makes me happy to know that people liked reading it. Thanks so much for the review. I hope you continue to enjoy the story in the future. :)

I love this storey. I love this storey. I love this storey. I really, honestly don't think I can say that enough. I stumbled across it by accident, and I haven't been able to stop reading since.
Your characters are brilliantly written, the action is incredible, and the entire thing falls believably into the Whedon-verse. I am amazed at the detail and skill with which you crafted Spike's past. You are, thus far, the only author I have come across who has attempted such a feat and succeeded admirably. I didn't mind the slight detour from Spuffy-ness, because it ensured a solid basis for (and better understanding of) Spike's character.
I can't wait to see where you take it next. Oh, and did I mention I love this storey? :)*
Author's Response: I'm so glad you did stumble across it and that you are enjoying it. Thank you so very much for the wonderful, flattering review! I hope I can continue to entertain you in the future. :)
