Mmmm easier to travel when you have money. Spike has his own airplane that means less waiting at the airport :) And way more comfortable to sleep in a bed.
Spike's house seems to be a very nice piece. So now one weeks vacation. But I wonder who Fred is and what role she'll play.

Bad memories or a bad past Spike had.
Ah I see.. Spike tried to do the right thing in order not to hurt his friend and he acted only when he thought they were over. But it was an accident that caused Ethan's dead. Yet that doesn't stop Spike feeling miserable. And his attitude towards love. Maybe Spike should see an counselor.

Wonderful chapter , in a very sad and heart tearing way. It was very interesting to learn more about Spike's backstory, and to see why he wouldn't think possible to fall in love.

teehee--yup, poor naive Spike, thinks he can decide whether or not he falls in love...sounds like he's already IN love with her, no matter what he says! The Ethan story was sad--stupid Drusilla, completely screwing up their friendship and emotionally scarring Spike. grrr...

that was nice to see some of Spike's past. I cant wait for the next chapter, I need my spuffy scenes lol. Great job on this part, it's now easier to understand why Spike doesnt want to commit to intimately with a woman!!
