I can't decide who my heart breaks for more at this point. My heart breaks for Spike over what he has had to endure just because he loves her. My heart breaks for Buffy because, she had him, and now it all seems broken

I am hopeful they can pull it off, and can't wait for the next update.

Good chapter, very emotional and some truth... yet I think Spike is wrong that Buffy hates him. *sniff* Now Buffy has what she wanted.. but she don't want it any longer. I hope Spike is careful when he goes.. that he doesn't try to greet the sunshine. ~ Till next chapter!

i think spike was wrong only once: she did not hate him. I think she hates herself a lot, and that she tries (in a very selfish way of course) to avoid pain (for her), not caring for his feelings.

I just read all 16 chapters of this and you have me in tears. This was such an evil ending to this chapter. Very well done - I can't wait to see if Buffy finally frees him.

Loved Spike's characterization of Angel *gg* And nice theory why Buffy was 'sucked into heaven' and Angel was 'sucked into hell'. ~ Spike knows Buffy very well and he did a lot of thinking about her too. ~ And know Buffy knows: If it cost him his life â?? he would not give up on her. I wonder what she'll do now. ... with the sun to come.

Yep, nail on the head, as usual. That's what the whole thing has been about - she's so caught up in her delusion of being unable to love, that she's refusing to choose loving actions. That's what real love is, after all. Not feelings, but actions.

spike's really great in this chap! after all the crap she is still giving him, he can see right through her. i wonder if she will answer him now... could buffy be brave enough for that?
