I love Joyce, and maybe Buffy needed the anguish of her mother seeing how she has become, to force her to see it herself. Very powerful chapter, and if anyone can make a difference, I am sure it will be Joyce, thank goodness. Very tender moments between Joyce and Spike, very nice to read. So Spike woke up before Buffy did. She looks peaceful? I hope it stays this way. Maybe it's indeed The Key that is the reason old Buffy is back. Mmmh I don't think Buffy will want Spike far away. So it seems he will move in soon. But this is just a guess. ~ Oh, Dawn did questioning Spike. This was almost like the Inquisition. (Naw, just kidding.) If Dawn has a point? Should it be a spell gone wrong? But why did it get better anyway when they got home? Oh. No, the other Buffy is back. .... Thank god! Joyce is there! Buffy was almost totally out of control. The primal part didn't like the thought that she should vanish.

oh i hope they fix this soon, poor spike. and how must buffy feel to know she has something inside her like that. more soon please

Thank God Joyce is there in time! And wow - the Slayer is talking completely on it's own, now. We have two separate personalities going...and she knows Dawn was created...goodness that thing is evil, not even caring if it destroys Dawn.

Interesting. Dawn was so clever to call Joyce to come home. Dawn's calming affect on Buffy's demon seems to have weakened. I wonder if Joyce's will as well? And what will they tell her?

Yep, something's got her...but what? Can't wait to know more. Spike now knows that Buffy is possessed - how will he help her and himself without harming either Buffy or himself? And I am disturbed by Dawn saying she hates Buffy. Hope that's just a stupid sibling thing. Buffy is in real danger here and hate isn't the appropriate reaction to this situation.

Buffy is back? Maybe it's indeed Dawn's Keyness. And Buffy had a epiphany.. maybe the insight that Spike wants the claim like she does and that there are feelings involved too will help in the future.

Nice moment...tainted, though, by wondering just how long it will last. Even normal Buffy is super-changeable on a whim, so adding in the psycho-Slayer...she could still reverse her whole position, and mean it.

i always loved dawnie!! buffy is still not on my favorite list of people right now. she's destroying any chance of getting help. i mean, i think i understand why she doesn't want their help. she doesn't want the claim broken right?? but she acts like she's more ashamed of spike than of the possibility that the claim could be broken. anyway, i love this fic so much and i can't wait for the next post. please continue. loved it.

Finally, a chapter with Buffy somewhat in control. This story is dragging out to the point that I'm really tiring of the Buffy bashfest. It has been established that something is wrong with Buffy and that is the reason for her awful behavior, yet hatred for her prevails over concern for her. She is obviously beyond the point of helping herself and I think that warrants someone stepping the hell in (I realize Anya has tried, but she obviously isn't the right person for the job, having been unsuccessful). If it is Dawn and Joyce to help this time, so be it, but please have Dawn park the Death to Buffy Train at the station. Through this entire thing we have seen Spike (or so it seems to me) an unwilling participant in the claim. Could that be the reason Buffy is acting the way she is? Because of Spike's rejection? The only time he's wanted to be with her was when she forces the sensation through the mark. This doesn't seem to be heading in a Spuffy direction (the pleasurable kind anyway). The couplings are all forced. I don't think for one minute that Spike wouldn't be forcing Buffy if he had been the one to make the claim, so this mystical rape isn't really a concern of mine. My main concern is the dragging out of Spike's victim status (wimp - and when he does try to stand up he's stupid about it), and the reluctant or lack of sympathy for Buffy and what she is going through (now that Dawn knows, hopefully she can get Buffy the help she needs - Mommies usually make everything better. Here's hoping).
