I do hope Spike will make sure it's ok with Meret before he gives her eggs away... after all, she might want to have her offspring know that she's their mommy. Although somehow, I can see Meret giving one to Buffy on her own initiative. And, I just thought of this, it rather levels the playing field, if the Scoobies can't conceal from Spike how they feel about him.

I really loved this. I would love to see more of Spike and Meret, and see if Spike and Buffy grow closer. But the best part was that Spike ended up being a Scooby. He finally belonged.

That was a fine ending to the opening story of the Coatlverse, pet. Loved it!
Giles revelation of the prophesy and Spike's role in it answered much but also left much to be explored. His belief that the goddess Coatlicue was instrumental in Maclin's failed plan told us who was behind things, and I'm assuming that because Spike was the only 'dead' walking to associate with the gang Coatlicue rightly identified him as one part of the prophesy and the same with Buffy...
Now all that's left to do is to wait for you to write the sequel, so that we can see Meret's offspring and watch them 'choose' their life partners... can you imagine the mischief Dawn and her partner will create? The sagacity of Giles's partner and the beauty of Buffy's... and all together they will have adventures that will stir the imagination... I'm so excited! *sqeeees and HUGS WW again*
Oh... and I LOVED this,

The presents were all wonderful , and I especially loved Spike's "The Slayer's giving me fights for Christmas?" inner comment. The prophecy was intriguing and Giles' invitation to Spike to aid in the fight was awkward and amusing. This whole piece was wildly entertaining. Thanks for taking such care with it.
