Uh-huh.. you A/N leaves me to think the worst! On to the reading: Oh my.. what a way to put it: There might not be a Hellmouth once this spell goes down. Yikes! Talk about a cliffhanger!
I like the contrast between Spike and Dawn's emotional states and interations before and after their capture by the bad guys; very effective. I got a real sense of Spike's rage. The link with Meret is used to good effect here too; great way to give us the information.
And Dawn and Spike decorating the tree while watching Rudolph is just plain cute!

I was able to read two chapters at once, and they are both wonderful. This one is very exciting and full of tension, and the previous one is a lovely progression showing us Spike beginning to belong and ultimately feeling happy. Loved the idea of Merit napping on Buffy's pillow.

This Maclin is a tricky piece of work, isn't he. He knows too much and much seems to have been premeditated. Hopefully the cavalry will have him hoist by his own petard... soon. They must. He's far to confident. Spike deserves a break. You know it makes sense, pet.

Wow, the actions really ramping up!
Love Meret's thought "We come" - she's really pissed. From the images she sent, Willow did the spell to prevent a spell on Meret. Hoping the coven really helped her for the short time she was there.
Can't wait for Buffy to get to see her gift from Spike.
