I'd forgotten all about Spike's entanglement withFaith, too. Nice job! The crypt really isn't safe - anyone can barge in any time. I liked Spike's guilty musing about Faith. How is he going to get out from under that relationship? How is he going to keep Buffy out of it? His emotions are being put through the wringer. It's very entertaining to read.

Author's Response: But wait! There's more... It's about to get reaaaallly interesting. There's a reason Buffy's still in the AU. I'm so happy you updated! I've been waiting and waiting... :) I was so afraid Buffy was going to bolt or get mad and tell him to wait until he'd broken things off with Faith. So glad to see them so happy. I know it won't last long...but hey, the angst makes the good stuff that much better. :)

Playful, happy Buffy is great fun to read, and I'm really enjoying how relaxrd she and Spike are together. The sex scene was wonderful.

Phew, it's all out in the open now and Buffy and Spike still have no clue what the future holds! I liked Spike reassuring her Buffy that everything was going to be okay while railing against the PTB internally.

Oh - it wasn't all about Spike loving Faith, it was Seeing him with Faith like that was just about more than she could take. ;-) more like that.... And is it not more worse - Spike being with Faith because he can't have Buffy? That's my opinion - sorry if you don't like ... I just don't like Spatih - and I'll never read Spawn. Loved the chapter though - the end the most ;-) And anyway: it's only a dream - for Buffy.

Author's Response: I'm not a big Spaith fan either. It was the worst thing I could think of for Buffy though - which is what it takes to get the girl's attention in my mind. And I don't know if it's worse - I think taking what comfort you can in a life that's hard is at least understandable. Spike thinks he can never have Buffy, what's more - he doesn't want to interfear with her "happy, normal" life. So now ya know my motivations for writing it the way I have. And for the record - Spawn is icky!! There are many pairings that aren't for me - and that would be at the top of the list. Almost as bad as Guffy - eeeek! ;)

Excellent bait and switch with Spike's emotional attachment to Buffy. I enjoyed his observations of Faith and the time they've spent together. This chapter was an emotional payoff to all of Spike and Buffy's longing. Stalking each other, but trying to be cool about it was a lot of fun. The fight was a surprise, and it led perfectly into the kiss. Can't wait to see what's next.

Hmmm, so it was all a trick, huh? *raises eyebrow sceptically* I never THOUGHT he loved Faith, but still the Faithness and his sex with her is just as gross to contemplate with him in love with Buffy as not. Still, huge points for taking it in the spuffy direction at the end...and God, I would have kissed him too. Very yummy! And dying for the next one, graphic sex and all.
