Yep, I got what you were trying to hit at with the Harmony scene. Disturbing, but it was a nice way to show Buffy what her future would be if she doesn't start fighting. I think she got it ;) Actually, she'd be really dumb not to get it. I guess I'll see in the next chapters.

i finally got over here to catch up this fic pj and i just had to tell you before i continue that this first chapter is amazing. It made me tear up. You pair the flashback with the present day perfectly, both creating suspense and intrigue! I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Hi PJ, I didn't want to start reading a new WIP because I'm reading so many of them right now and I have a busy life, but decided to give this one a try anyway. So far, I'm really liking this. Very dark. I enjoy the flashbacks. It's really horrible what happened to Joyce. I don't think I'd ever get over it if something like that happened to me. Can't blame Buffy for running away. Can't wait to read the rest.

Author's Response: I don't hate Joyce, but I needed a major tragedy that would just void Buffy of feeling. The fic is dark, and continues to be, but if you give it a chance til the latest chapter, you'll see it does have a tiny shining bright side that will come out fully at the end. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a Spuff-fic more then I have enjoyed reading this. Even with the dark tones I was completely wrapped up into this the whole weekend reading it. Sorry I didnt comment at the end of every chapter I just wait till the last posted chapter.
Excellent writing and you have such a firm hold on all the players I'm beyond impressed. I will ret not to beg for more but I know I will fail with that as I'm sitting here waiting for Spike to break into Buffys new room.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. FYI, I finally became a bonifide member (golf clap), my reviews I submitted for this story were under the name ‘t’, now of course I’m TMW.
Sweeeeeeet. VERY good chapter, f’course I expect nothing less from you now – puts author on pedstal bows repeatedly chanting we’re not worthy, we’re not worthy, LOL. As usual you didn’t disappoint in providing a twist I didn’t expect. I’ve also dubbed Spike the nick name crumb snatcher (something I call my 2 small children), for his eternal quest for signs of something from Buffy.
If I’m interpreting this chapter correctly, then Spike knows now that he means at least a little something to Buffy (the show of jealousy/ kiss and statement of not distracting me). I hope he takes advantage of this in future chapters to break down some of her resolve. Her revealing information I hope will bring them ultimately closer, but it will depend on how Spike treats her after he’s through w/ Amy. I do wonder however, if Buffy realizes, or will, that she needs to be on Spike’s side for her own survivals sake. I mean if something should happen to Spike, she could be at the mercy of anything, to include Angelus.
I love how quick witted spike is, being able to formulate a plan sooooo quickly w/ buffy’s information about Angelus (unlike the btvs series, ya know the act first think later Spike. Dangerous smart men are so much more sexy, give me a bad boy any day of the week). Seems like he wasn’t or didn’t have time to be mad at her for with-holding, either that or he doesn’t blame her or expect anything less from her. As I said, I’m curious to hear the conversation Spike will have w/ Buffy after he’s through w/ Amy. Which by the way was brilliant, meaning he let Buffy know in his own way (“can’t just let her go”), he has some sense of humanity…not having sex w/ her and not killing her either. I’m really anticipating to read what conversation will goon in Spike’s room between him and Amy. OR, will Spike simply sneek into Buffy’s room to spend the night w/ her, reassuring her of his intent to keep her for himself and safe as well.
It should be a crime how hooked on your fic I am, and thanks for answering the how parker died question.


Author's Response: Crumb snatcher LMAO! I keep Buffy's thoughts sort of in mystery, but some part of her definitely knows that she needs him to survive, at least she does initially. And soon you'll see a trend of just how much Spike "overlooks." Thanks for your long review!
