Why are you being so mean to Xander and Willow (or writing them so mean)? Come on!! Xander wouldn't hurt Anya. Oz wouldn't ignore Willow like that. I know it's your story, but why change the characters so drastically? Why wouldn't Buffy or any of the others be concerned for Willow's safety when they are talking about no one going out alone because of Angel? Obviously Willow doesn't know that Angel's on his way there, right? I really like the story, but it is so hard to get past the blatant dislike you seem to have for the Xander and Willow characters. It's just not believable - you're basically rewriting them - why not just make up two new characters altogether?

great chapter - im starting to worry about Xander. I haven't liked him so much the last couple of chapters. grr... :) I'm interested to see how you work all these out with dawn and buffy & spike being her parents and now angelus out on the loose. :)

This chapter was loaded with important plot developments - Angelus is heading toward Sunnydale and has summoned Drusilla. Casey has been welcomed into "family life," and is calling himself Dawn's boyfriend. Xander is getting more and more wound up and appears on the verge of blowing. Buffy has a plan to heal Spike and will not take no for an answer. Spike really likes the morphine, which is fun to read and lightens the mood. Why would you want to scrap any of that? It all seems to be driving the characters toward even more physical and emotional drama. Well, maybe not Spike on morphine, that's just cracking me up.

Nia glad you didn't scrape, its an important chapter. Seeing into the minds of almost everyone helps to move the plot. Xander it seems has some issues, sigh, doesn't he always! I like your Anya-she can be an important contribution. seems like you're giving us some hints about her...

Scrapped? That would have been a crying shame - literally. Great chapter. Once again you established the characters and their underlying motives even further which serves to make the coming action that much intense. I do want to see Spike let Buffy heal him - so the tease was great - makes me want the next chapter all that more!

Oh very good title......for true colors are starting to show..... to be human is not always devine goodness and light and demons are not always of the bad......Xander's true colors are coming to light......and I can't decide if I want Anya with Giles or Wesley....so she can have one of those of her own........

I loved it. Xander showed another bit of his being (almost shaking Anya with the baby). And I think - maybe - Buffy sees him now how he is. But maybe she did see him before - with his hate of demons. I think she'll let Spike drink of her - whatever he thinks about it. Hopefully he'll be better soon; when Dru is coming, too... it's getting dangerous for all of them. Love the new scoobies!

Angelus "singing very badly." Heh. I liked Buffy thinking of all of Xander's lies. In grabbing Anya, Xander, here, is the man shown at the end of his vision in "Hell's Bells." It's a good exploration and characterization of the worst aspects of canon Xander. I'm glad Anya and the others are realizing the awfulness of his behavior towards her rather than accepting it, as they did on the show. Nice S/B. :)

I think Xander is an ass. He just won't let go of this demon notion will he? And Anya...as annoying as she is she has this innocent quality about her. With angelus coming they all need to be on their toes. Casey's comment about being a boyfriend now that was sweet. :) GReat update!

I'm very glad that you didn't scrap this chapter. I think that you covered a lot of important ground. You clarified Buffy's feelings and gave us a lot of fun StonedSpike. You gave us the possibility of throwing Drusilla into the mix - definitely upping the potential for crazy nastiness. You gave us a nice explanation of Dawn's current feelings toward Spike. And last, but definitely not least you gave us Anya being Anya, who I like; and Xander being Xander, who I loath. You do a really great loathsome Xander. Thanks and I look forward to the next chapter.

Because they're the Leather Pants of Evil, held in place by the Belt Buckle of Doom. Angelus is such an evil bastard. You write him well. (Is that a compliment that you wirte "evil bastard" well? LOL Oh well, meant it as such.) Another good Buffy and Spike moment. Drugged up Spike made me chuckle. Like his concern for Buffy and her continued persistence. She's a stubborn one that Slayer. And Xander... Ugh. Don't like the whelp. Anya needs to get out before he has a chance to humiliate her at the altar...
