Loving how Buffy tells everyone how things are from now on... The Scoobies really can be idiots.. and stubborn and I don't think they will just let things be no matter what Buffy said.

Even if this Spike isn't in love with Buffy yet I don't think he would say no to sleeping with a slayer. ;)
I would have wondered if one of the Scoobies (including Riley there and Angel) wouldn't have tried to kill Spike. The way Buffy acts is way too strong for them. I like the older Buffy knowing what she wants and saying so, not looking up to her friends if they approve her wishes or not.
And I guess the Scoobies were very tempted to go without a Slayer now.
Spike was hiding, avoiding Buffy's eyes when she mentioned using demons or poison. Sounds to me as if he knew of these possibilities already.
Sad that Buffy thinks she has thrown away her rights to find love. Would it be too much to ask for a reward to do the other Buffy's work, getting her own Spike back? And if only for making the Scoobies see reason.
And no plastic stake for Spike now, he won't be in his crypt. And won't lose stuff. And I'd like too if Joyce wouldn't have to die because nobody noticed her aneurysm.
But maybe Buffy will have to pay because she walks in 'her'-Spike's shoes now, for her it's love and for this Spike only sex. (At last for now.)
I forgot to add: You might not mean any harm, Giles, but you cause harm. That's right, true for the other Scoobies too.

Author's Response: I've got two long WIPS going. One's like this one, but more angsty, and I should have it up soon; and the other's the 'Running Wild' sequel which is giving me major trouble, which was why I thought I'd finish this one and give my subconscious a chance to work things out. Spike knew about those possibilities, but didn't want to think about them. Let's face it, he's already hung up on Buffy. :D The Scoobies do cause harm - I wanted someone to say it. I'm so glad you're enjoying this! Thank you!

Are you sure you can't just post it all at once!!! I can't wait for the next chapter. So illuminating to see the roles being reversed in that Buffy is the one with the unrequited love this time, and she's learning from it.

Oh and I also enjoyed that moment during the fight when Buffy had that moment of doubt thinking that Spike might actually be out to kill her...and all the thoughts that realisation brought her.

This story is Amazing! And this chapter was pure perfection. I love your 24 yr. old Buffy standing up for herself and not taking any crap from any of them. I think maybe her talk w/ Giles will do some good. Don't understand why Joss made her such a wimp in her personal life. Feminist? Don't know about that. Amazing sex . You know how to write perfect smut.

--> Teenage love's nice and simple, isn't it? Well, I grew up . Adult love's messy and complicated and real. It's all our different pieces meshing together like gears. Oh if only canon Buffy were allowed to actually get this perspective , so much heartache could have been avoided.
btw, don't mean to nitpick or criticize but I do think their relationship in canon was more than one month, it was more like 3. Any reason you put it at one month ?:)

I couldn't find a specific mention of the time involved so just counted up the episodes from 'Wrecked' to 'As You Were' without realizing that there were gaps from 2 weeks to a whole month between them. You're quite right - 3 months would be a more accurate figure! I agree that Joss made her a complete wimp except for slaying! That's why I try to write her differently. I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. This one's just fluff, but it's fun to write!

Not bad, not bad at all, love the surprising end. I'll be waiting for the screaming in the next chapter.:)

Very nice twist! And very possible for the spell to go wrong.
So Spike was right, there is always a price to pay for real magic. Tough to find out how high the price is with no new slayer called.
This other Buffy has enough reasons (especially one: Spike) to come to help. Even if I hope the other Buffy will be back and can find her happiness too. Especially with the older Buffy teaching the all the others a lesson - hopefully. It helps that she'll keep her memories.
Buffy kissing Spike was sure a surprise for the remaining Scoobies including Angel and Riley. But I'll bet that just the start of surprises for them.
Good to see a new story of yours, love the start.
