I KNEW it! I KNEW it!!!!!!! Drusilla was BOUND to show up! Granted, you did much later than sooner, as I'd thought, but what a cliffie!
And I somehow thought Helen would've insisted on going back w/Xander to've helped w/nursing Spike while so seriously injured.
And yep, I always see Giles, somehow medically trained, almost like a Dr. or more like a Psychiatrist, but gone w/working for the Council, so not in practice.
It would explain his ability to help talk w/everryone in crisis, his usual understanding, and in your story his ability to administer and have that class of drugs and injectible/IV drugs on hand, and know which to use.
Drusilla---what a can of worms there! She smell some family nearby? Come to fix her "childe/not childe"? Or see her grandbaby?
Wondering if Angel shanshued too, after all?

Somehow I really thought it would've been Dru---either that she'd have known via vision; or TI hunted her down to have on hand or in league w/him...hoping to cause a loss of soul. perhaps like a "School Hard" Spike was to Buffy...Or that she'd have just been there, found her way at the right time to take her boy and fix him...didn't figure an anonymous practically a fledge to sire him, and unknown even if he was an Aurelian byblow or descendant! Figures via many years and Masters he could have some A. blood in him, Angel et al of the Fanged Four making many a minion (supposedly Spike abstaining from childer). Just wondering how it would affect Spike and his demon to have an anonymous donor---wouldn't the demon be different? I could see Spike with his ironclad will maintaining and slipping right back into being a Master Vamp, but wondering about the vamp/demon being a different chip off a different not so old not Aurelian block, and how that'd work.
Very interesting that Willow was his partner in crime in this....always the sneaky girl. Gotta watch the quiet ones...she's a rebel...Oh, heard that someplace before!
Loved it, again, and thanks so for an enjoyable, enjoyable read! Angst, suspense, lovin', spuffiness and a cliffie! all rolled into one. Excellent!

Called Dangerous and will be up soon. But will be starting another soon and the point about more details of their daily lives is a good one. Thanks. Got another little fic written but it's Giles/Spike more than Spuffy even though she's in it from start but can't post it here. Also got idea of having Thomas the sexy vamp from Dresden Files head to SunnyD to woo Buffy much to Spike's horror! Could be fun!

I've personally had such a hankering for post-Chosen and particularly post-NFA fics lately, and not just cos
Buffy the comic S/8 is out. I've been hitting sites and ferreting out bunches for future reads. (Those and time-travel Victorian tales).
And for MONSIEURRIPPER and other work vs reading fic challenged individuals....a TIP!!! Use the internet browser on your cell phone. Some phones do java and read true html (depends on how intricate and graphics heavy a site is I think, or how large) and you can go to sites straight on by typing in the web-address. However, I find that a lot of phones if not palm tops don't convert page size to fit the phone screen.
You can use the Google browser (Medianet if you have Cingular/AT&T) and actually switch from mobile browser to real Google if you look around on it, which will find your results better. Hunt up your fave sites, like TSR, BSV, EF, VK, AFF.net, FF.net, whatever, and bookmark them to favorites.
Then you can go back to your sites and read text only (usually will on newer phones fit the screen or give option to resize to fit, and show minimal graphics like banners and such, & you may have to fix it in your settings to allow graphics & java. Clear out cache/temp internet files & cookies often so it doesn't lock up.
Once you're checking your sites for updates you can bookmark interesting looking stories for future read, stories you're reading, where you left off in a story, etc.
Important tho', if you're gonna do this upgrade your phone plan to something like unlimited data use or something similar...when charged per Kb it is EXPENSIVE. My unltd; plan is an extra $20/mo, and for palmtops it's something like $44/mo. I've used it a lot over the last few months in my probs w/Dell fixing my laptop (had an overheating lemon---in general it's been down more than I've been able to use it.). So I at least got to read some fics via the phone browser. BTW, non-java enabled phones will not letcha read fics, usually those rated NC17 or R or AO that carry a pop-up warning---it just doesn't handle the pop-up window...once I got a new phone (right now a Samsung Sync) it was pretty smooth sailing on any fic & rating.
Just a tip for those wanting to cheat at work if cells allowed or to get in a bit of reading on lunchbreak, bathroom breaks, have boring jobs , etc....just to help ya get yer fic on.

Sorry Mabel , but in my insane hatred of Helen (not really ,just don't somewhat like her) I didn't read everything she said and totally missed the line about rhe Immortal, your good, it never even occurred to me that it might be him. Can't wait for Spike and Buffy to kick his ass.

I expected perhaps a jealous or more crazed than usual Drusilla, but not The Immortal to go after Spike...I thought TI was just a done deal, passing mentions...didn't know TI was a vamp or had vamps in tow working for him...that doesn't seem like something Buffy would tolerate/condone just for somebody who could throw the leg...!
OK, wow, unexpected (not so much that somebody would go after Spike, or Buffy, that's a given, even vamping him, but it to be TI and vamp minions threw me for a loop!) and boy, golly, you got my attention.
Figured Helen for vampmeal, just figured it'd be random in the hospital parking lot or somesuch. Didn't figure Spike would keep up a friendly relationship w/her either, that it'd be awkward. Now she's Xanderbait isn't she???

I have been reading this and around about the 10 or 11th chapter, I got totally sucked into this story.
Your writing style is pretty good. The idea of the story is excellent. I wasn't sure about reviewing in the beginning because it flow as well in the first few chapters but it's come along very well.
I can understand some people's reluctance to read this as most tend to want Spuffy right away and don't want to read about anyone especially Spike with anyone else, but I think you pulled it off. You might want to consider putting the summery that Spike is with someone else but just temporay. Just a thought.
Anyway, I hope you update soon.

Just read up to chapter 14 AND YEEAH Helen gone ,Whhoo hooo, thank god and it was her idea to leave stupid chit realized she didn't stand a chance in hell. Now I can go and read the last chapters of Spuffy angst and goodness . This has been a great story the only thing I found wrong with it is that we had to endure 12 chapters of Spike /Other , thats alot Mabel, i have read Spike /other stories where he ends up with Buffy at but the other is over sooner than later this was dangerously close to being the Spike and Helen chronicles. you however are a very TALENTED WRITER and i look forward to reading more SPUFFY fics written by you.

Author's Response: Prob with this fic is I wrote it as a spike fic, which in my mind always ends up as Spuffy but needed to go through what I thought should have happened post season 5 Angel!! Will write next one with this site in mind and have them both in it from the start!

Helen was sweet and you wrote her well but I'm glad she is gone... and of her free will, I was afraid the only way to get rid of her was death by vampire which would have added to Spike guilt. Great story... and generous portions but I'm still hungry for morw.
