It feels like Christmas every time I see an update! I'm loving this story SO much... even if the whole awkward kiss made me cringe. Poor Buffy!

Author's Response: Well, he doesn't see her in the same way she sees herself, so it doesn't always occur to him off the bat that she lacks so much self-confidence. But he'll feel bad for how he handled it, that's for sure.

I love how the real Spike is coming out now that they are getting to know each other. How subtle his attempt to ask her over. I wonder if he has realized that he misses her, and that maybe they need each other aside from this whole crazy situation. Our little cuddle buddies. :) And I do wonder a bit about Ellen, though I like that Buffy is trying so hard not to like her. At this point it is too early to tell if she is part of the conspiracy, but she is surely interesting. Fabulous dynamics all the way around. Update soon!

Author's Response: They both lower their defenses, more and more now that they're getting to know each other better. They don't even fully realise they're doign it. Spike just likes having her around and even though he knows of the potential danger in it, he just can't help it. Hee... I love that you called them cuddle bunnies! :) There is some interesting interaction between them in the next chapter, and I think you might like it. Oh, Buffy really doesn't want to like Ellen! lol She's not to keen on sharing her father's affection with anyone else, which is natural since it's been just the two of them for years. Wonderful chapter. It was funny hearing Buffy refer to Xander as Alex, I love that little touch. Sounds like Anya might be a vengeance demon in your story, or is that a red herring? I love the juxtaposition of her worldliness with Buffy's age-appropriate insecurity. Beautifully done.

You know, Spike is pretty good, he got out of that whole thing without ever telling her what he was up to. And try though they're not, they are letting each other in. And really, can we blame either party that he's putting a goofy smile on her face. Poor thing has pushed everyone away for her whole life and she finally has a beautiful man paying her mind who understands her, more than she even realizes. I like how he's trying to comfort her, even if he's not quite sure where the line is. And I do wonder about this Ellen, it is a mystery why all these new people are suddenly showing up. Not sure I trust her. Amazing. Update soon!

Author's Response: Haha, that's true! Spike's quite good at distracting Buffy and making her forget what she wanted from him in the first place. The connection between them is strengthening the more time they spend together and Spike is unable to keep away though he knows he should. As you said, he doesn't know where the line is.
