She's nervous and yet kinda wary but still determined to not show weakness even when she's over powered. I really like this last page cause it very much shows Buffy's age, as a teen and emotions she goes thru. Very true to the heart of Buffy.

Cecily a loud mouthed ho! I died laughing at that part.

Oh yes! Checking for updates every time you sign on is so worth it.
I about did a dance when I saw the update come on. I love the club scenes and the conversation in the car her just wanting to get out someplace and Spike not wanting her to go almost dreading being there at all. I loved how you played the scene reading it was almost like watching it play out. Great descriptions and intensity and great lines. I couldn't stop myself from laughing as Buffy just never stops daring to go against him and he's so gob-smacked and can't think of a fast enough retort before she walks off. I really loved the ally scene as well but whoa if anybody had lingering ideas as to what Spike might feel for Buffy Angel has no doubt now and being a massive jerk will so totally use it now. God! I want more to read and this was a great long chapter too. Somehow I find reading your stories one chapter is never enough. Ack! Now I have to go back and read it again it's too good not too :D

Wow gotta say this chapter was on fire start to finish! And it was cool to see them actually go outside of the lair besides being on a job. I liked the snark and humor to their digs to one another and so many under currents between the two.

It's interesting to see in small ways how Spike recognizes she doesn't fit into this world and yet he watches her as she figures it out on her own. Sort of a parenting yet rat bastard kinda side to him in this fic and I cannot help to love it. I mean the boy just keeps screwing up and I'm addicted to it!!!

We keep seeing tidbits of Angel plotting the end of Spikes gang/side in some upcoming gang battle and most likely Rack will be a part of it as well.
I loved this chapter by far its the best fiction I've ever read. It makes me want to lock you in a room with a lap top to make you write some more. But alas... Spuffy Realm has certain protection orders on their writers and "No taking the Author captive" is one of them

4 Stars! Heck 10 Stars!!! And every Fanfic awards possible on the planet.

OMG!
Where has this fic been all of my life!
This is just hot from page one it goes beyond being a page turner. It is like you cannot stop once you start reading it each chater is on fire and you have to jump to the next. This is intense and impressive I have never come across you before but your such a great writer. Do you mind if I beg for more?

Poor little light weight Buffy. Guess she really did try to not be drunk. Such an interesting atmosphere, the two sides against everybody else... And now everyone knows that they don't get along...That really could be very bad, not to mention the badness that will come when Spike lets an undrunken Buffy hear his wrath. Fabulous chapter, can't wait for the next one.

My favorite line: "Don’t stay out of your sight? Why the hell do you think I wanted to come? To spend more time with you?" LOL soooo funny! Also loved how everyone had to spend time "babysitting" Buffy...although bad Faith for not keeping an eye on her.

Eeek Angel better stay away! Ha, Spike does care about her.

Yay I finished this chapter, can I have another? =)

Oh, quick up-date...yay! Loved the Joan - Billy flirty banter and the no memory thing was cool, so was the fight scene. Willow looks as if she could be a cause for concern...again! And now Meret is making her presence known to Xander and Giles, I wasn't expecting that, as I kind of always see them as 'close minded' so nice surprise there...so, in all loved the chapter...and can't wait for more...soon, please.

Dumm, de dum dum dummmm... Oh dearie, dearie me. Is Willow in for a virtual spanking upside the spellbook. Poor, poor Tara. I do hope someone goes after her and makes sure she's OK.

The positive thing to emerge from the experience though, is as you intended, Spike's acceptance within the group is growing. Giles has acknowledged him by asking him to help. Xander has acknowledged him by not firing of barbs. Willow though, *sighs*, she's going to be a problem isn't she. I do hope she doesn't tangle up with the Mage who's heading up these faceless demon types.

So glad Meret's OK. She knows they're after her, doesn't she? Hopefully, with her able to transmit emotions to the rest of the gang now, she'll have them all on her side. Never know, she might be able to help Buffy, too.

Lovely update. More, more, more... please?

Well, she just bonded with everybody since she saw them/felt them fighting together. She knows theose things were after her, so I'm sure she's grateful that everybody protected her. Doesn't matter that they were fighting for their own lives more.

Oh wow this is just, like...wow. Sorry to be so inarticulate but I'm just loving this chapter. Oh and the ending screams out for classic scary movie music LOL. My mum could do that btw, smell death or catastrophe. The only talent I seem to have is the ability to find the one item in a store that doesn't have a working barcode, heh. Still lovin it!

oooh the plot thickens...now what's a human mage doing in league (or simply using the services of more likely) with a bunch of demon minions? And how long have they been watching Spike to be sufficiently aware of his companion (Meret) and thus be prepared to catch her too? And is it Spike they're after or was it Meret all along (I remember your earlier reference to how coatl were hunted into extinction as their feathers were used in magical rituals)? Love it when a fic makes me ask more questions that it answers!

Yaay you...thank you for following season 6 canon closely enough to place this fic in a recognisable context but for not allowing our characters to go down the very unhealthy path that they did in BtVS. I can understand why things happened as they did on the show but always felt that with just a little more compassion and/or maturity on any one of the main players' parts the season could have been vastly different (and not nearly as ugly and unhealthy as it was). They say the darkest trials provide opportunity for necessary growth and I think I like the way this fic is encouraging our characters to grow so keep it up and I'll follow it with fascination!

Lord I just want to slap the Scoobie sometimes...yes even the indomitable Giles! While caution must be a way of life for those who fight vampires and all other manner of beasties you'd think they'd have learned to try and foster goodness and selflessness wherever it shows itself - it's not like there's that much of it to go around in the first place so you'd wanna sow the seeds where you can wouldn't you? Still lovin' it.

I'm pleased however that Meret's lifespan will be related to that of Spike's - he seems capable of caring so very deeply that it pleases me greatly to think that he'll have a creature that will not only reciprocate, but be able to do so for a very long time. Really enjoying this.

oh coolness...we should have known Tara would help (I soooo loved her gentle character and was very saddened when she was killed). May I ask if you named Meret for the egyptian goddess of song and celebration? If so then I really appreciate the way you chose to reference a god(dess) who was accessible to the 'common' people. In my culture we had a similar system - most of the 'masses' in my iwi (think of iwi as a tribe or nation) kept practices involving Uenuku (his avatar being the rainbow) while the name of the highest deity was invoked only by tohunga whose practices were kept from most of the people. Looking forward to seeing Buffy more explicitly as this develops too - though it's been really interesting the way you've spoken around her and of her impact on Spike and Dawn. It's been like drawing one of those pictures using negative space, where the actual figure you're creating comes together in relief AGAINST the backdrop of the other figures you've actually drawn in. Go you!

OH SHIT!

I don't like that letter and Fred better keep her big mouth shut. I have a confession, I never liked Fred in Angel. I thought she was a phony from day one and latched on too easily to any available man that showed an inkling of an interest in her.

Sorry, just me.

Anyway, I guess this is where it gets angstsy again, right?

Good chapter though.
