| Hey all I just wanted to give you guys a quick update. You know how when you go to give a review there's that Security code box requesting that you input a code in order to leave a review? Well if you are logged in you shouldn't have that problem anymore. Big thank you to Passion4Spike for the suggestion/idea!! | Hey guys I need some advice. This year as you all know has been literally hellish for me, but it's getting better. With Christmas fast approaching I am finding that this year I will not be able to buy things like I have in the previous years. I have already informed the 'adults' in my life that they can expect homemade Christmas cards from me this year. Now for the kiddies (nieces/nephews) its a very different story. I want to get them around two gifts each. I have the 13 year old twins, one 7 yr old girl, and 4 yr old boy, and 2 babies under 6 months (a girl and a boy). I would really appreciate any suggestions; online bargain shops, or deals you've seen (I'm ok with refurbished electronics this year). I think the babies will be the easiest and the teenagers the hardest, but my budget will only allow me to spend like $40-$50 on each of them. The older ones will probably be disappointed because I usually spoil the heck out of them. However, this year has taught me to believe the wise words of the Rolling Stones, 'You can't always get what you want...But if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need'...so I'm sure they'll get over their disappointment. So any suggestions, links, ideas would be much appreciated, and feel free to email me through my profile page here. Thanks!!! |

| Hey guys I know I haven't been here often but I do try to stop in every now and then to make sure things are ok. I wanted to stop in and say thank you for your continued support. Some of you have continued to make donations to the site and thanks to all of you who have made the donations the site is paid for for another year. I cannot express to you how much of a load that has taken off of me. It has been a very difficult year for me personally/financially due to mother nature. I sincerely could not/would not have made it without your generosity and support. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys are what I'm am most thankful for this year. | Ok so the host has done a complete scan of the site and all files and they have found absolutely nothing and they say and I am quoting: "I believe this is a false positive that your guest is experiencing" Don't know exactly what that mean on the technical side, but the gist of it is, 'It's not me it's you'. Sorry guys. According to what I have researched, 'False Positives' occur with certain virus programs, so make sure you have to latest version of your virus definitions. Some suggest trying another antivirus program I use (on this laptop) Microsoft Security Essentials - which is free and on my other 4 PCs I use AVG - which is not free. I have accessed the site from all of my computers and I have no issues. And my host assured me that there is not a virus anywhere on our server. BTW are any of you using the Eset (NOD32) anti-virus program, because when I do a search about this particular virus that some are saying they are getting that program is being blamed as the culprit, just to let you know. |

| As some of you may know this year I have been hit with a couple of personal devastations due to the weather. We were hit with a tornado back in April and just this past Saturday we got hit by hurricane Irene. Now there are reports that tropical storm Katia will be a full fledge hurricane by late this afternoon and she seems to be on a course for us here on the east coast. I have taken a deep financial blow, and although my insurance will help it seems that that will not be enough to cover all my recent expenses. So I have come to a position where I have to cut costs. As I sat down at my desk and wrote down all my expenses. I decided that I could cut off my cable and keep my internet, since I watch all my tv shows online anyway. I have turned off my home phone, since I have a cell and never use my home phone line. I was trying my damnedest to avoid the line marks ‘website’, but I pay over $200 for the dedicated service and databases and upgrades, etc and unfortunately right now I just cannot justify paying this luxury cost. I’m so sorry but I really truly cannot. Due to ‘two’ very generous donations from one, fan/member of the site, the site has been paid for the next two months (thank you so much for that!!). At this point the only way the site will continue to run is by the generosity of you guys. The donation area on the site is linked to a paypal account that is attached to our server account, so that the money is taken from that automatically every month. I will clear the ‘Chipin’ donation box, and put up a goal amount, in the event that some would like to make future donation. I have estimated that from November to March of next year that will be approx. $1125, so that will be the goal set in Chipin. I am not and I repeat I am ‘not’ asking, begging, nor demanding that anyone makes a donation. If you donate, do so because you want to, and are able to, don’t feel like you have to. So the option to donate will be there if anyone wishes to contribute. Please know that I will be posting an identical message and the same exact Chipin widget on all the websites I have. So as it stands, if there are no funds in the account to cover the cost as of November, than sometime in November the site will be going offline. But don’t worry all files will be saved (which I do weekly anyway). I do intend to bring the site back if it does go offline, most likely (God willing) sometime in the early New Year, around late February (after tax refund) or early March. So know that this is not a forever thing. I sincerely hope you all understand why I have to do this. I have just been hit so hard by Mother Nature this year and with the economy, such as it is, it is making it difficult for me to bounce back as quickly as I have in the past. It is my hope that no author removes any of their fics or closes their accounts because I promise that the site will be brought back if it goes offline, I swear it! |

Well my niece, mother, and I returned from Raleigh this evening and honestly I'm still crying even as I write this, because not only is my yard (front and back) filled with blown down trees and branches that aren't even from my yard, but the roof I just had replaced has a large tree branch/trunk on it and half of my new gutters/drainage system is gone. Oh but the best part is my car, which I decided not to take. Since there was me, my niece her baby and my mother. I thought it best to rent a mini-van so we would be more comfortable. HAHAHAHAHAHA!! I took a picture of and will share with you. As you can see it has a tree on it, ironic thing is I actually had a landscaper scheduled to come out on the 26th to cut the tree down because it's branches were growing over and touching my new roof, and I was told by the roofer that that could become a problem, cause damage. So it was suppose to come down, but due to the storm had to reschedule, guess the jokes on me because the damn tree decided to take the initiative. From what I can see the tree busted my sunroof, which got the inside completely wet. I can't move the fucking tree until my car insurer as well and home/property insurer come out and look at it. My neighbors must have thought me crazy because I was screaming and crying when I got home. I just do not know what I am going to do at this point. Seriously, and I am not being dramatic when I say this but I may be off-line for an unforeseeable future, this is just too much. I'll now have spend most of my time working. I'll probably have to take on more clients and work crazy hours of overtime to recover. Hell I'm even considering moving to another state, or maybe move more inland, because we have two more tropical storms forming out there now. This is just too much for me, seriously. Sorry for ranting but I needed to vent. Now I think I'm going to go take a hot bath and then order Chinese (if there's a place willing to come out in this mess) and get drunk! |

| I'm writing this because I read a couple of reviews that I didn't care for. I think because majority of the Spuffy fics posted here at the realm is fluffy romance stories that some take that to mean that those are the only stories allowed here....THAT IS WRONG!!! As stated in our rules, 'Spuffy' doesn't mean Spike and Buffy have to be fluffy and romantic, they can hate each other, Spike doesn't always have to be making moon eyes and being Buffy's door mat, Buffy doesn't have to keep giving Spike a pass she can do her duty and dust him...So long as they're the central characters in the story Spike and Buffy can do whatever they want to and for each other. So if an author choses to have Spike attack Buffy, rape her and then bleed her dry that their prerogative, they are welcome to post their story here so long as Spike and Buffy are the main characters and they mark their story with the appropriate ratings and warnings. We have absolutely no rule that says only happy fluff allowed. Don't get me wrong I love it when my Spuffy get themselves a happy Spuffy ending, but I am perfectly fine with Spike being and remaining the big bad, un-chipped, evil vampire that Buffy can't seem to dust. We want 'ALL' Spuffy fics here the light stuff and the dark stuff. 9 times out of 10 an author will let you know in the summary or the author's note, and even with the ratings/warning that the piece will be dark, that there will be character death, rape, etc so take heed to that and if that's not your cup of tea then don't read their story, that's perfectly fine. But it's not ok to go into a fic knowing it's probably not something you care to read and then leave some scathing review chastising the author because they didn't write Buffy and Spike to 'your' satisfaction, or the way 'you' think Spuffy should be. There is no board of Spuffy ethics, no handbook that author's should use as a guideline for writing Spuffy. No author has to nor should they have to draw/color Spuffy inside of a certain line. if you don't like a story because it seems out of character to you, OK, but don't get up on a soapbox about it, proclaiming the author has committed a character assassination. Spuffy fanfics are stories that 'we the fans' have written because we wanted to explore and expand the relationship of Spike and Buffy and the interactions between them. Their relationship can be love/love, love/hate, hate/hate, the possibilities are boundless. I know I probably sound like I'm a ranting banshee but it irks me when I read a review basically telling to author that their kind of Spuffy story isn't welcome/wanted here at the Spuffy realm, because 'ALL' fics where Spike and Buffy are the main characters are wanted and very welcome here. |

| Hey guys it's been a little while since I've been here. I wanted to invite you guys to watch a movie with me. I have designated every night this weekend as 'Movie night'. So I have made a page with an embed of the movie (which is not hosted on our servers, for those wondering) also I have added a chatbox if you guys want to chat while you watch. For those who know me they know that I am an avid fan and collector of Asian films (especially horror). So when we have movie night it will most like be an Asian film. | Hey guys, I finally got online. Our lights and cable service just came back on. I'm not sure if you're aware or not but last night we were hit with 6 tornadoes just here in the Jacksonville, NC area, and unfortunately my neighborhood and my very home was hit. My roof was badly damaged, as well as structural damage. But I am a live and I'm here, but I lost 3 of my neighbors, one of which was a 90 yr-old grandfather. We searched for him last night, but the authorities found him a ways off from where their home had been. It's pretty somber here right now. It looks like a war zone and they've evacuated us, can't even go back to what's left of my house :( I will be focused on getting my life rebuilt, deciding whether to rebuild or just move, I think the insurance comp. appraiser will help me to decide which. For the time being I cannot be focused on the site. You guys have been so gracious with the donations that we're paid for for another month after that we'll have to see what my funds will cover, but no worries if we go down it will just be until I get resettled in life I promise. Just keep us here in your prayers please. *Update* When we were finally able to go home (they evacuated us and wouldn't let anyone back in for a couple of days, and they sat looters were out and bout, fucking vultures....like we haven't lost enough) and see all the damage, I feel lucky because at least my house is still standing, I start crying when I think about the place across from my subdivision where there's nothing left, there's not a house standing, and those were the newer more upscale homes...all gone. This is where the EMTs, military, red cross, etc have set up because they're still doing search and rescue. For those who'd like to see my neighborhood and some of my neighbor's giving interviews, I've posted the link to the youtube video about it. | If you have an xbox live acct beware. I have two set up for my twin nephews and they both got hacked and there were 4 $59.99 annual subscriptions charges posted to my check card which was attached to their accts. Microsoft said they would refund it but it could take 15 days, and they were assholes about the entire situation! I disputed the charges with my bank who took care of it for me and was told that they have had numerous customers call them with the same complaint that their xbox live accts had been hacked and charges made to their debit/credit cards. |

| Hey guys I've been working on making the website mobile friendly. Meaning it should be more easy to read and view everything, like you would on a pc/laptop. I found this free service that does all the work for you. I would appreciate if you mobile addicts could check it out for me. I've placed a coding in the header of the site that's suppose to 'detect' the mobile devices and automatically convert the webpages. All that cpalead is providing for the site are download, I have spoken with them about it and they tell me that once the site gets more traffic they'll unlock the better surveys. | I don't want to call out names or embarrass anyone, but I just had to give my thanks to those of you who give monetary donations. RM, thank you for your very generous $150 donation, and SL for your $35 donation. That will take care of a big chunk of next month's bill. So thank you so much...that's bananas...thank you! I am still working with CPALead to try to get the incentives site up, so that way you all can help pay for the site and all you have to do is fill out a survey or two. | OK guys, I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to do the upgrade I've been told we need, without having to go into the poor house, and I've come up with an incentives ideas. Please keep in mind that although I have put up the website I 'still' have to get approval from CPA lead, you may recall we use to have their surveys up on the site. It was an annoyance but it did pay relatively well. How this is gonna work, if approved, is with a points system. You register for free, fill out the surveys and for each survey you fill out you'll get points, and then after you've racked up so many points I will pay you a cash voucher to make online purchases. The store vouchers are endless because basically any place I can get gift cards (egift cards) that can be emailed to you I'll get them. Right now I'm thinking of doing $30 to $50 gift cards/vouchers. I know you're wondering how can I afford to do that if I can barely afford to pay for the site. Well, the way it works is for every survey you do the site gets $$, mind you it's usually only pennies (literally) but pennies do make dollars, and it adds up. So if you happen to fill out enough surveys to earn the voucher, the site would have earned enough from CPA lead to pay for your cash voucher and still have a bit to the side, to help pay for the site. That's the general idea anyway, the site is up, though pending approval. If CPA lead doesn't approve us I shall seek out other endorsers. If you'd like to browse the site to get a feel for it and gain a better understanding of how it works I'll post the link below. | My host have looked into the issue of why the site keeps going down and they have concluded that it's due to all the traffic we have here. They told me: "We're sorry about all the upgrades, but it looks like your site is getting more and more traffic. The amount of hardware you need may continue to go up and up if you receive more and more traffic. I believe to move you to new dedicated hardware you'll need to order the new hardware, we will move the data once it is provisioned, and then you can cancel the old server, with whatever remaining balance is on the old server being applied to the new machine." So, it looks like I'll be shelling out more $$ a month, but they say they'll give me a discount which will be around $35 more monthly (probably because of all the bitching and moaning I did). Anyway, this move will take place this Friday, so expect the site to be offline for most of the day while they transfer all of our data. We have grown so much and I want us to continue to grow, even if I have to take out a second mortgage on my home to pay for it :D *Nope that's not obsession* |

| Some of you may have noticed on the recent page that the word count on one of your stories are off, well we have known about this since we upgraded the site. It's a glitch in the coding. The way to fix this is: 1. Log in, on your account page click 'Manage Stories'. 2. Find the story with the incorrect word count, click 'edit'. 3. Go to the last chapter on the list, click 'edit'. 4. Then (you don't have to edit anything unless you need/want to) simply click the 'Add Story' button. I'm sorry I don't know what causes this glitch but when I have more free time I will see if I can fix the coding. |

| So you may have noticed I've made a new skin for the site. It's a little animation for a class project. Like a crazy person I've gone back to college and am working on my bachelors of arts for Graphic Design & Gaming Simulation (It's a hobby that I enjoy), this week's assignment had me make a flash a flash/fireworks logo, but the flash logo just wasn't what I wanted to put up because not everyone has the latest flash player and I really wanted everyone to see the skin, so I also made it as a animation gif, which is more friendly. So I hope everyone can see it ok and let me know what you think, love it or hate it. |

I know the ads/surveys have been a big adjustment for some of you, but times are hard and every little bit that I can get to help pay for the site, I have to take. These ads/surveys help squash down that $200 monthly fee, and it costs you guys 'ABSOLUTELY NOTHING', except a few moments of your time. | Just wanted to give you guys the heads up that we have a new ad affiliate. I have placed an ad widget on the 'recently added' page. Please do not let it scare you, you are not 'required' to do anything. You can simply close the ad box 'OR' you can take a few seconds and fill out one of the surveys offered. There you have it, nothing major and again I say you are not required to do anything you don't want to do :) And the ad widget is only on the blueeyes skin. Feedback is welcome. Also if you have issues let me know. **Update!!** Ok guys it seems that a few of you have some minor issues with the widget. So I'll try to post a solution for those who maybe having the same issues. If you are using Firefox the widget may not display fully and you won't be able to 'scroll' down to 'close' the box. Easy solution for this is hit the F11 key to fully open the page and fully display the widget. Guys you are not 'required' to do the surveys or play the games shown in the widget. But if you decide you have the time and are willing to do one of the surveys, our site will get a commission for it. This is just another means to help pay for the server space here. Another 'FREE' way, all that is required is a few moments of your time. Although I do appreciate greatly the monetary donations you guys give, this is 'free' and just as helpful and most appreciated too. Ads are a necessary evil for our site. I have no problems with the widget and hopefully no one else is, but if you have feedback it is welcome. For those concerned about the surveys, they are verified as adware and spyware free, if you have any problems with it please let me know ASAP. | So as most here know when I'm bored or can't sleep I tweak out on the site. Well today *boring day off*. this was the case so I pull out the list I have for some upgrades I wanted to do to the site. *a list you made, mostly* Anyway, there was one for 'reviewer gets an email when the author responses to their review'...I finally modded this into the site. So all you members who opt to get an email when the author responds to your review (checkbox can be found on the 'submit a review' page) you should get a email reply. As I say whenever I start tweaking out on the site, if you guys notice anything funny, have issues please let me know. |

| I want to take a moment to say 'thank you' to all of you guys who have supported the site through the ad affiliates. We were just paid $15.45 for clicks on the ads, that's amazing. Considering they don't really give you much per clicks, it shows that you guys have really been helping out. I really appreciate it guys, and I hope that you're not repeatedly clicking the ads, please 'do not' do that, that could cause us to be disqualified. It just takes '1 click a day', and if everyone who comes here showed their support this site could pay for itself. | Wow guys the site has already earned nearly $200 so far this year according to our 'chinpin' meter. That's not including the donations we get through paypal and the ad support. Thank you guys so very much, it's much appreciated I can use all the help I can get. Now that Yahoo is getting out of the affiliate business I will need to find new ad support, but don't worry I would never bog the site down with annoying ads. But know that the ads do help me to pay for this site, which is quite expensive, so they're a necessary evil. | So I've just finished writing a mod for those of you who forgets their penname. It is much like when you lose your password, but the penname is not emailed to you, but displayed right on the site. Since pennames are already displayed throughout the site there's no security risk and therefore no need to send it in email. As always if there's issue please let me know. Pari |

| Ok so I've been working on the coding and I think I found the glitch that was causing the extra line breaks whenever you edited your story/chapter. You will still see the line breaks (< br \ >) but if you hit 'Preview' they should disappear. I don't know what's causing this and I'm tired of working on it. | OK so I think I mention in the tagboard that I recently had a couple of wisdom teeth pull. Well I now have an infection due to the fact that the dentist didn't pull out all the tooth. See they first break the tooth and then pull out the small bits, well he left a little fragment and it's causing a lot of problems and pain.

For those looking for a beta reader, you can search on the site's beta reader list, and you may also want to try 'word talk' this is a 'free' text-to-speech program For 'word 97, 2003, 2007' that uses an automated voice to speak what you type. It can read as you type it or after you've finish your story. I use it becuase I find it helpful to me to not only proofread but to 'listen' while someone else reads it, to find typos. Beside it *Assuming that the story has more than one chapter* you should see 'Chapter or Story' links, these links will allow you to see a particular chapter of a story or the entire story, with all the chapters. The button for saving to a PDF file will be found on those pages. | I was just asked about an issue a member was having with getting a popup error for a media plugin, 'quicktime.qs'. This will occur for those of you who have quicktime and a flashplayer installed on their pc that have improper settings. It's not the site, well sort of basically we have some 'flash' items on the site like some of the ads, and what's happening is your Quicktime player is trying to play it instead of a flash player.

| Just a quick note. Please, please when posting your fics, place things in the right place. I have modded this site to be easy, nice, and neat for you guys. Everything has its place. There's an 'Author's Notes' section for...author's note. There's a banner section for...banners. So please do not post Author's notes and banners in the area where you post your fics.
